Sorry this is so short! But a new update will be coming on Saturday.

"Mia? Mia!" I shook her arm, suddenly feeling alarmed. She stared with hatred at Chase.. almost as if she was betrayed.

"Mia!" I snapped. She glanced down, and I cautiously eyed her ice cream, suddenly on the verge of splitting into a huge mess.

"It's nothing. I was looking at someone else." She said, pointing beyond Chase, to boy with brown swept hair. His red swim shorts was brightened against his tan skin. He. Was. Hot.

"Woa."

Then the crack came, followed by a splattered ice cream in the sand. She stood up, brushed her shorts off, and stalked off down the beach.

"I'll meet you back at the house." She called, not even bothering to look back.

*~*

The whole Mia-mess had taken me by suprise. Was she lying.. Maybe. Mia was a good actor when it came to lying. One time when we were eight, my she had broken my hammock above my bead on accident. I wish she would've told me, because I was officially scarred in the middle of the night when the whole son of a bitch came crashing down on me. Bad memories.

I shook away the thought when my phone rang.

"Helloo?"

"Um, Ally? It's ch-Chase." Aww, he was stuttering because he was nervous. Or maybe he had a speech problem. Wait, no.

"HI!" Ohmygodimsuchaspazz.

He laughed. "Hi Ally. I was wondering when our next date would be." He sounded relieved. Probably because he thought he had the wrong number. I did that all the time. One time, I had even managed to contact my science teacher. Okay Ally, off topic.

"Em- maybe tomorrow? We could grab lunch at the pier." I suggested.

I heard laughing in the background. "Ugh, sorry. My friends are being idiots. See, were staying here on vacation. Things get hectic."

What?

"I thought you said you lived here." I said slowly. "With your family."

Silence.

"Chase?"

He cleared his throat. "Yeah? Sorry! I got things mixed up. I live here with my family, but my buddies and I go to a beach house. You know, vacationing away from home?"

"Oh. Okay, well about that date. Tomorrow? I'll meet you near the first post of the pier."
