"Xinyi, you know how these things go right?" Mom said as we sat face to face in his office.

"You're letting me marry someone that has a higher business than you so we could be a part of their shares." I explained bluntly.

Mom nodded, "But the son of the CEO of the company is still having doubts whether to accept my offer or not."

"He must be really smart not to accept it then,"

"Still, he will show up soon. How are things with So Hyun and Xukun?"

"How should I know? I'm not their reporter," I said, a bit pissed off.

"So Hyun told me you guys keep having a misunderstanding." Mom said, as I heard her sigh. "For once, can't you control that mouth of yours? We need to help Xukun's family get back on their feet."

"Then let them stay in a hotel!" I exclaimed. "I cannot survive one more day living with that bitch -"

"Language, Xinyi. What did she ever do to you?"

I bit my lip. Should I enumerate what she did? Will mom even believe me?

I looked at her as if she's waiting for me to make up some bullshit lies.

"You know what, you would never believe me anyway."

I bowed down to her before leaving the office.

I walked inside my room and saw all my pillows scratched again. By So Hyun's cats of course. I sighed, picking up a broom and started cleaning the feathers that flew out.

"Her cats went on a rampage again." Ziyi said, leaning on my doorframe.

"You mean, it went wild in my room."

"Sorry. I couldn't do anything. Xukun asked me to help him cook and the next thing I knew she was screaming from your room."

I put the dustpan and broom back and sat on my bed, hugging one of the banana pillows Zhengting gave to me. "It's not your fault. She's just a bitch."

Ziyi pulled out a chair and sat in front of me, "Can I ask you something, Xinyi?"

"Ask away. What question could you possibly say to change my state of mind."

He nodded, "Do you like Xukun?"

My mind went blank.

Do - I - like - Xukun?

I never thought of him in that way. But when we kissed, I did feel something - or was it just the memory that was rushing through me.

I still don't remember if he really stole my first kiss or not. Why do I have a bad memory.

"Earth to Xinyi? Hello?" I didn't realize Ziyi was already waving his hand in front of my face.

I came back to my senses and laughed, "Why would I? We're just friends. Wait scratch that, we were friends. Once. And I don't like him at all, not with the way he's been treating me."

CAI XUKUN'S POV

"She says she doesn't," Ziyi said as he played with the rubik's cube. "You should've treated her nicely when you had the chance."

"It's fine." I said, "It's for her own sake."

"What about your own feelings, Xukun?"

I looked out the window as I saw two kids riding their bicycle, "I had my chance and I blew it. Now it's his turn to help her out."

"He's not helping if she doesn't like him."

"It's still going to happen, Ziyi. You know how much Mrs. Zhu needs the money. I can't stand in between them."

Ziyi suddenly stood up, "If you won't fight for her - I will. I won't let her fall for the likes of him."

I smiled, trying to hide as much emotion as I can. "You've finally taken a liking to her? I thought you told me you wouldn't."

Ziyi was quiet. I knew this would happen the moment I called out for him - yet he still argued and promised not to fall.

Am I gonna lose another friend again because of Xinyi?

I felt a pat on my shoulder, "You're not gonna lose me, Xukun. We're friends and we'll always stick together."

THIRD PERSON POV

"Does Xinyi even like Xukun?" Yoojung asked the boy in front of her as they sat down in the ice cream shop.

The boy shrugged, "She wouldn't cry that much if she doesn't. I think she has feelings - she just doesn't know it yet."

"What's your plan of action now?"

"Are you attending the school festival?"

Yoojung nodded, "There are a few students from the Chinese Branch School that's coming over. I need to accommodate them."

He nodded, eating his ice cream cone, "We'll see what happens then."
