CAI XUKUN'S POV

I clenched my fists as I saw Yanchen flirt and talk all day to Xinyi. He doesn't even love her anymore, he just wants to play games.

Talk about crazy.

"Watching you suffer like this in silence is killing me but at the same time I'm enjoying it," I heard Zeren whisper from beside me.

"She's avoiding you, you know?"

Zeren nods playing with the twig he picked up, "I reckon you told her?"

I said yes, waiting to face his anger, but nothing happened. "She deserves to know. And I shouldn't have drank that night."

"If you tell her, she might still forgive you. You two have been through a lot besides nothing happened."

I saw him smile, "That's because you saved her. Does she know what you do behind her back?"

I shook my head, "Xinyi doesn't deserve to know."

"Why?" Zeren questioned. "Xukun, you have sacrificed so much for Xinyi. You even punched that Yanchen to the gut for being an asshole and almost got yourself arrested because you broke half of their stuff,"

I stayed quiet. It's true, I've done countless things for her, but I promised myself I wouldn't tell her.

"Not to mention, you punch Zeren right in the eye," Quanzhe suddenly popped out of nowhere, pointing at Zeren.

Zeren ruffled his hair, "Aren't you supposed to help Seungkwan?"

"I was. But people kept mistaking me for him, I got tired pointing out the difference," He honestly explained.

I bit my lip, trying to remember what Xinyi and I talked about the other night.

"Aren't you gonna take her back?" Quanzhe asked. He might be younger than us, but he's got eyes of an owl and a mature mind.

"She was never mine in the first place," I whispered, looking down.

FLASHBACK TO THE NIGHT XUKUN AND XINYI WERE ON A ROOFTOOP

I look Xinyi straight in the eye. I feel sorry for her. She doesn't deserve to experience all this. She doesn't deserve to be locked up in an arrange marriage, but she has to.

All because of me.

"Xinyi," I said, pushing some hair out of her face. "Remember Kyulkyung's party?"

She nods, not saying anything.

"We -," I was hesistant to tell her but she deserves to know. "We kissed that night. You drank a bit after finding out Yanchen cheated on you."

I saw how Xinyi's eyes widen. "We - we really did?! Oh my gosh."

She was still shock and confused. I saw her eyes looking towards my lips, then her head looking away. I smirked, getting a crazy idea in my head.

I pulled her towards me, our noses touching, "Do you wanna do it again?"

"No!" Xinyi quickly exclaimed, covering my face with both her hands.

I laughed at her cute reaction, "You're really silly, you know that?"

She groaned, covering her face with her hair, "I hate you so much, Cai Xukun."

I smiled, "Something also happened that night. I think you deserve to know this. And I apologize in advance."

"Why do I feel like you did something that's connected to me?"

I sighed, "Xinyi, I don't care if you hate me after this. But you deserve to know. Zeren - uhm, Zeren was also drunk that night. You were lying on the couch and he was about to -"

"No," Xinyi whispered. I can see tears forming in her eyes. "Tell me, you're lying."

"I'm sorry, Xinyi." I wiped the tear that fell from her eyes. "He was about to but he -"

"Xukun -" We were facing each other, then she put her head on my shoulders. "Tell me what happened,"

I bit my tongue and continued. "He stopped. He didn't do anything."

Lies. He didn't stop if I hadn't come in between him. That night I saw him touching Xinyi, I quickly rushed over and punched him.

I told the others. Only Quanzhe and Zhengting believed me. Justin thought I was lying, so up until now he kind of hates me.

I cupped Xinyi's red cheeks. She was crying non-stop. Well who wouldn't?

She's been friends with Zeren for a long time and hearing what he did had hurt her.

"Didn't expect to see you here," Yanchen said, sitting beside me.

"That seat's taken," I growled.

I heard him chuckle, "Come on, Xukun. Why do you hate me?"

"What you did to Xinyi, wasn't that enough?"

"Does Xinyi know the reason why she's stuck with me?"

I clenched my fists, "Leave her out of this, Zhou Yanchen. Just focus on helping her mom."

"Wait," Yanchen stood up infront of me. "You mean she doesn't know? Damn Xukun, I thought you would've told her already."

I was about to speak when he cut me off, "She should know that after you two kissed, I asked you about it because from what my family, and all the businessmen and women know is that you and her are cousins.

We had a fight and you almost broke the house. Keyword, almost. Since your family offered to pay the damages and for my surgery. Your punches are weak by the way."

I scoffed, "No wonder you were rushed to the emergency room."

"Need I say more?"

I stood up and grabbed his shirt, "What do you want Yanchen? You want to keep blackmailing our families into keeping quiet about the whole cousin thing so you can have Xinyi all to yourself?!"

Yanchen smirked, "Not a bad idea."

My grip on his shirt tightened and I pushed him away, "This time you won't have your way, because things have changed."

He raised an eyebrow at me, "I see no changes at all."

"You're gonna have to go through me first if you want Xinyi. Because unlike the old me, I'm now willing to fight for her."

That was the last thing I said to Yanchen before walking away.
