Today was the day, today was the gateway where I was going to bring pride and honor to my district, today was the day of the reaping where a representative from the capitol would come to district 4 and pick out 1 male and 1 female to represent our district by fighting to the death until a lone victor remains. I was ready I had trained for my whole life for this day.
"Sagittaria, breakfast is ready!" I hear my dad call out "come on do I have to eat the bacon for you to?"
My dad was funny like that, I despised his jokes but always forgave him for it since he was a dad and therefore was aloud to make dad jokes.
"Coming!" I say, I drag myself out of bed and down the stairs into the kitchen and there was my sister Frostine reading her stupid poetry books while listening to Britney Spears, while my dad just set down two plates of bacon, one where I sit and one infront of Frostine.
I plop myself down infront of the glistening pieces of bacon. "So today's the big day hey sis?" Says Frostine stuffing her face full of bacon.
"Yeah it is and in two years time it's going to be your big day aswell" I give her a fake smile.
