The 110th Hunger Games

The Bloodbath

Today I had to wake up at 8:00 since the games start at 10:00, after getting prepared I'm handed over into the custody of the peace keepers and I'm out on a hovercraft with the rest of the tributes to the arena. Once the hovercraft has taken flight a peacekeeper comes around and inserts a tracker into our left arm.

Trust me it's less painful than it looks. Once we've been delivered to the arena we are escorted in the catacombs under it going to our pods that lift us up into the arena. When I'm in the room there is Leo holding my jacket. He puts it on me and he doesn't say much.
I tell him goodbye but when I'm walking to the pod he pulls me in for a hug.

10 seconds till launch

I freak out and hop into my pod I turn back around to meet his gaze, but he looks away ashamed.

As I'm lifted into the arena I'm blinded by lights from the arena sun.

I look around to see we're surrounded by trees but in the middle is the big golden beautiful cornucopia

I look to my left and next to me is the girl from three and too my right is the boy from Five

I get prepared to run Andddd

BOOM!!

I'm startled by the noise but I run full force to the cornucopia I run for a crate which has a knife belt sitting on top of it I put it on me and pull out 3 knifes at the ready, everyone else had made it here I search around trying to find my first victim my eyes catch the girl from 9 who's frantically searching for something to take, she sees me eyeballing her and she makes a run for it not today I toss my knife at her and it goes straight through her neck, she drops dead onto the grass, I turn around and find the girl from 3 at a crate looking at the contents, what a stupid move anyone could kill her, so I pull her by the hair onto the ground, jump on top of her and repeatedly stab her to death as blood splatters my jacket.

I get up and grab a sword, most people have ran off but I find the boy from 5 and the girl from 6 fighting for a backback. With one swift swipe the boys head comes clean off, the girl looks at me petrified, she's too late to move and I gut her like a fish, she lets out a piecing scream but then she quiets down when I drive my sword into her heart. I turn around to see Glint shoots the boy from 12 in the back of the head and Adam beats the boy from 7s head with a baton several times.

After the bloodbath is over we all count 8 cannon shots. I drop my knife and sword in disbelief: I just murdered four random people who I barley knew who probably had parents, had siblings, people who cared for them only to watch them be cut down in moments after the games begun. 

"Jeez only 8? Seems like we got a lot of hunting to do" says Breck jokingly

"Let them hide" says Alyx
"When we do find a tribute let's make it hurt so the gamemakers don't do anything too spicy" says Breck almost laughing

"Get anyone Jane?" Adam asks

"Yeah the pair from 8 the boy was trying to stab me but I got him. Turns out the girl from 8 was his sister and she ran at me unarmed without thinking but I slit her throat" she says in a very esteemed way.

"I think we have another alliance this year aswell" says Breck staring intensely at something inside the forest

Glint twists her face in confusion and joins Adam staring intensely into the forest.

She gasps "he's right"
I join them and stare into the forest and there are the girls from 5,7 and 11 all watching us from the tree line. From what I can see the girl from 7 has a chakram and two daggers and the girl from 11 has her blowgun and a machete and the girl from 5 has her bow and arrows along with two short swords.

"Shall we go and finish there little alliance?" Says Jane as a smile creeps across her face.

"Numbers doesn't matter depending on how experienced they are with there weapons" says Glint with disappointment

"I agree, one wrong move and we might get a dart in the neck" I say frowning and taking deep breaths.

Just then an arrow lands near my foot, I dance away and look up to see the girl from 5 loading another arrow.

Breck charges her, she fires her second arrow and it hits his shoulder it doesn't faze him and he just rips it out of him and snaps it.

The girls look at each other and make a run for it into the forest.

"Yeah you better run!" Alyx yells out

As Breck walking back we gather the remaining supplies and put them all inside the golden horn. But take out a few supplies from all sorts of packs and crates and what we need for hunting.
Glint finds 5 first aid kits but we decide to only take 2 with us. I find a crate full of dried beef strips, dried fruit, 11 full water bottles and 8 empty bottles. We even stumble across a big tent that all of us can fit in.

There's nothing else useful but we all take 1 machete each just in case we lose our preferred weapons but lucky for me I find a vest that holds an impressive array of knives.

"Right, now lets get this party started shall we?" Says Jane in a sinister voice
Glint jumps up and down shaking her bow around.

Breck and Alyx fistbump and Adam and I Hi five.

Let's get moving, the more tributes that die means one step closer to coming home to Frostine and my dad.
