The Tributes Of District 4

As I was finishing up some chores around the house and telling Frostine off for the most dumbest reasons I decided to head down to the beach and dip my feet in the water and take in the last remaining hours of my time being in district 4. I've never noticed how beautiful district 4 really is until now.

As I'm drifting off in my deep thoughts the alarm that signals the reaping goes off.

A cold breeze fly's by and goosebumps stand tall on my arms and legs as I get up and run to my house to get ready there waiting is my sister pulling her hair into a side ponytail. I quickly run into my room and pull on a sea storm blue dress and a magenta cardigan on and pull my hair in a messy bun. When I walk back into the living room where Frostine is, she gives me a disgusted look "um you do know that blue doesn't go with purple, right?" I role my eyes and smile "be nice after all I'll be living in victors village while you'll be stuck here with dad" she gives me a death stare and fires back "you do know that the victors families has to live with them right?" She grins. ugh how I hate when she's right.

"SAGITTARIA, FROSTINE ARE YOU COMING WHERE GOING TO BE LATE!" Frostine and I share a "uh oh" expression and make a beeline to the town square...

This is it, it's time for me to start my road to victory this is going to be my year and no one is going to stop me from taking it, they'll die trying

... we make it to the square and we line up ready to get ourselves put into the reaping, I'm so excited I don't even feel the peace keeper draw the blood from my finger. I walk over to the back where the 18 year old girls stand sheepishly. As soon as everyone has been signed in a representative from the capitol walks onto the stage in front of the justice hall her skin dyed blue and her ridiculous poofy dress made out of the softest baby blue silk from district 8 and above that is laced with jewels and diamonds that are most likely from district 1.

"WELCOME WELCOME TO THE 110th HUNGER GAMES AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR!" She then signals 3 peace keepers to play the video of the penance of the rebellion and why where here blah blah blah. I've heard it that many times I could probably say it in under 10 seconds.

"NOW!" I startle at how loud she is. "THE TIME HAS COME TO SELECT ONE BRAVE MAN AND WOMEN TO BRING HONOR TO DISTRICT 4!" I watch her as she struggles to walk over to the big glass bowl in her foot breaking high heels "AS ALWAYS... LADIES FIRST" she puts her hand into the bowl and brings up a slip of paper

"ADRIANNA —" this is my chance I think "I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE" I say as loud as I can "well I believe we have a volunteer" she says.

I walk up to the stage looking proud and fierce, I see Frostine stare at me with excitement but also a little bit of fear, a fear that I might not be coming home. No I can't think about this now I need to focus on being strong, showing the rest of the tributes that I'm no one that you should play games with me and if your gonna get in my way you'll pay for it with your life. As soon as I'm on the stage I see Frostine trying to hide the fact that she's crying, I also find my dad at the back of the crowd with the rest of the parents he smiles and gives me a thumbs up.

"NOW FOR THE BOYS!" She walks over to the other big glass bowl and retrieves a slip of paper with her ridiculously long blue sparkly nails.

Before she can read the name a boy has already called out "I VOLUNTEER"
And he strolls up to the chin up and staring at me. "Now we have our male and female as this years tributes from district four"  I turn and look at him he has brown hair and hazel eyes just like my dad. "Now time to introduce yourselves to everyone"  she turns to me "what's your name deary?"

"Sagittaria Evans" I say he looks at me and mumbles something to himself

"Now what's your name dear?" She says to the boy.

"Alyx Evans" he says

Hey what a coincidence we have the same surname
"Lovely!" She exclaims now lets not keep your family members waiting and she rushes us into two different rooms inside the Justice hall.
After waiting a bit the door opens and a peacekeeper shoves Frostine in the room.
"You have 1 minute he says" and slams the door behind her. She runs up and hugs me tight "please don't go" she says softly "even though sometimes I say I hate you I still love you till district 13 and beyond"

Tears start coming down my face "I love you too and I promise I'll come home and I promise you that you'll have the perfect life"

That's when the peace keeper comes in and grabs her wrist and drags her out of the room. I hear her pleads and cry's for 1 more minute with me but is slowly drowned out by my dad who is cheering as he is thrown into the room with me.

"SAGITTARIA IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" I smile at him and pull him into a hug "thank you dad for paying for my training academy funds"

"Any time pumpkin, now get out there and show em who's boss in that arena"

"I will dad, I love you"
"I love you too Sagittaria and I know your mother would be too if she was here"

The peacekeeper comes in and takes my father away.

After about 5 minutes the representative comes in.
"Hello Sagittaria my name is saasha Rose and I'll be showing you around the capitol and reading you rules after rules to you.

"Thank you" I groan I could do without the rules part

"Now time to go to the train, trust me your going to love it" she says excitedly.
