Chapter 14

My soul?! Why would he need my soul? What good would it do for him? So many thoughts are being flushed onto my head.

I really had no idea. Thump! Thump! Thump! I could feel my heart beating so hard.

'Why do you want my soul? Who are you? Are you a human?' I asked in a stupid manner. It was pretty obvious he is not human.

'Well, I guess it's time to say everything. Well, my name is Ray Jefferson.' Ray told.

How dumb could he be? I already knew that.

He continued, 'Well, I used to live here with my parents. I was their only son. They loved me so much. And i did too. They bought me everything I needed and we lived so happily. I didn't want a better life because I knew I was having the best life. Every weekend, we would go out to some place and enjoy. Beach, restaurant an more. I had so much fun. Well, one day, my mom got high fever. She was so sick that she couldn't get up from the bed. Many doctors came home and said that she has to be admitted to a famous hospital in the city which could treat her. So the next weekend, my dad told that he is going to take my mother to the hospital. I stayed home. And then I was waiting and waiting and waiting until the night. They didn't come back. I thought my mom was admitted and my dad is taking care of my mom. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It was 11 when I heard a knock on the door. I rushed and opened the door. It was my neighbour. He made me sit in his car and he took me to the hospital. I asked him where and why are we going. But there was no reply. I could see depression on his face. When we reached the hospital, he took me to a room where my mom and dad were lying on a stretcher. I ran towards them. I didn't know what to do. When I came near them, I saw blood all over them. It was, unfortunately, theirs. My neighbour told me that they had an accident. My dad was tensed, he was driving so fast he didn't observe the signals. A truck from the left was charging in with full speed. There wasn't enough time to put brakes. The car toppled over and landed upside down. My mother, who was already suffering, died on the spot. My dad died later in the hospital. I couldn't bear the pain. All I did was just run out of the hospital. My neighbour called me out. But i didn't listen to anyone. I was just sprinting straight towards my home. I just opened the door and rushed upwards to my room. I sat down on my desk and started writing. I wrote that I cannot live without my parents. My parents are the heart of me. If they die, I can't survive. After writing down a hundred words, I rushed to the kitchen in search of the knife. To my surprise, it was missing. But I wanted to die. I felt like I had to die. I rushed to the store room. I spotted the saw. I took it and......and...... and I stabbed myself so hard. I fell on the ground. Suicide is tragic, traumatic and painful. I smiled. I laughed. There was an evil loud laugh by me. And I died. Then, I have no idea came back to life. But I realized I hadn't. Since, my death was tragic, I could live on earth for one month and after that, I will just disappear. And all the people who I met this month, will forget me. Today is the last day of my living. But after living here for a month, I noticed that technologies have improved and schooling is also interesting. So I wanted to live here forever. I can do that by a sacrifice. I need to sacrifice three humans and one animal and I can live in any one of four bodies I sacrificed. So I killed Mr Harrison, James and your lovely bitch, Marie. There is one more soul I have to sacrifice before this month gets over. And that soul will be yours. And then, I can live as Daniel, which is you. Hahaha! Now, the time is 11 pm. If I can kill you by 12 am, I will become human. Even though I will live as Daniel, the soul will be mine. So, I've already wasted a lot of time. So, be ready to die.'
