Camila gulped deeply, her mouth was dry and her hands were shaking as she walked up to the mirror in her room. She stared into her own eyes for a few seconds, the silence filling the room was eery and the only sound Camila allowed herself to hear was her own unsteady breathing.

She let her eyes travel, searching down her own body and back up to meet her coffee brown eyes in the mirror. She nodded her head to herself and took a deep breath in before giving herself the courage to lift up her black T-shirt.

Camila hadn't felt any pain since she got bit by the red eyed monster that rainy night in the woods, well except for when she had collided with Normani Kordei. She had taken notice that she hadn't felt pain from the bite in days maybe even a week, and she hadn't changed the bandage that had been covering it in an even longer amount of time.

A lot of weird stuff had been happening lately, with her strength, hearing, speed, eyes, and Normani's new found interest in her. And Camila hadn't taken the time to really consider what was happening to her, this bite was gonna be the last straw to her sanity.

So she lifted her t-shirt, her breath uneven and her hands trembling in anticipation. The bandage was there, white and clean like it wasn't covering a bloody bite from a unnamed beast.

Camila sighed, slowly pulling the bandage off of her stomach like peeling a bandage off, minus the pain of course. And her breath caught in her throat at the sight of her stomach, like she was dreading, her stomach held no flaws to it.

There was no blood, no pain, no fucking bite. Her stomach looked perfectly normal, it actually looked better then normal, she now had a toned stomach with soft abs that she most definitely do did not have before any of this.

Camila let her hand glide on the skin, feeling the intact flesh, the smooth tan skin that had a deep bite mark in it only a week ago. She was perfectly fine, well at least looked perfectly fine.

Camila had no idea what was happening to her but she was so close to losing it that she was scared for anybody in her path when she did.

"They can't find it" Dinah said the next day at school, she had cane up behind Camila when she was at her locker and leaned on the locker next to hers.

Camila gave her a questioning look "Can't find what?" Dinah sighed, inching closer to Camila and saying in a hushed tone "The other half of the body"

Camila freezed, her blood running cold just at the mention of that night. "What the fuck do you mean they can't find it? I thought they already had" The brunette asked, slamming her locker shut which caused a loud unhappy noise from the metal, making Dinah flinch.

"I did too, but I overheard my father on the phone today" Dinah said and Camila gave her an unbelieving look and the blonde rolled her eyes "Fine I was listening in on his conversation with one of the cops assigned to the case" Dinah admitted before walking with Camila to their next class together.

"And they haven't found it?" Camila asked and Dinah shook her head "Nope" she said, popping the p "Any suspects?" Camila asked and Dinah shook her head in return "Not that I know of at least"

Camila sighed heavily, she didn't want to tell Dinah about it because she knew she would disagree instantly but she needed to share her theory with somebody and Dinah was kind of her only friend.

"Okay, I'm gonna tell you something but you have to promise to hear me out" Camila said and Dinah looked over to the brunette with a raised eyebrow "Of course" She answered and Camila looked at her with a glare because Dinah never heard her out but the Polynesian just grinned in return.
