Chapter 1

"Good job, Ms. Cabello" Mrs. Noelle said with a smile to Camila as she put down her test on the creaky wooden desk, a 100% written next to a circled in red A+, Camila looked down to the paper with a frown as she nodded her head and stuffed the betraying paper into her backpack before anybody else could witness her good grades.

"What's up with the frown? Did you get a bad grade?" Dinah gasped, surprise and excitement written into her expression that changed like a switch when she saw her best friend shake her head with a roll of her eyes.

"No, I got a A+" She sighed with annoyance in her voice that made Dinah look at her with a deadly glare "Fuck you, I got a C-, you have no reason to be so salty" Dinah scoffed at her. They got up from their seats and started their way out of the room after the bell rang out.

"You're lucky! I even tried to fail this test and I got them all right! How does that even happen?!" Camila asked, bewilded as she dragged her feet on the dirty marble floors of her school, Dinah looked over to her with a raised eyebrow and a frown

"Are you still trying to dumb yourself down?" Dinah sighed, she didn't agree with her friends dumb and not thought through antics, being dumb didn't automatically make you a popular prep, she kept trying to tell the doe eyed girl that, but it was like she was deaf whenever Dinah talked actual sense.

"No girl is gonna be interested in me if I get straight A's. I'm already cursed with asthma, no talent in any sports, and crappy eye sight that makes me wear these dumb glasses. It's a new school year Dinah, we're Juniors now, and I don't want a repeat of last year " Camila sighed heavily, her brain filled with self pity.

"Oh calm down, Genius, if a girl doesn't want you for you than she doesn't deserve you" Dinah said, ruffiling the shorter girls hair (making Camila frown and swat at Dinah like an annoying fly) before she kissed the brown hair and ran off with a grin.

"I gotta go to English, bye Einstein!" The blonde yelled before disappearing from the short girls eyesight, making her smile slightly at her best friends all in all energy.

Dinah had been her best, and one of her only friends since they were in 1st grade. She met the blonde (who had brown hair back then) on the first day of school, Camila had been wearing her glasses and a cute green dress with her hair up in a ponytail because her mom insisted. But that green dress had gotten ruined when a little boy with brown hair had pushed her down to the ground by her ponytail, calling her four-eyes and getting dirt all over her. That was when Dinah came in, she was taller than every boy in their grade, so she towered over the boy that Camila later found out was named Austin, and threatened to beat him up if he ever came near the very small Camila again. Later she offered to help Camila clean up the green dress so she wouldn't get in trouble with her mom, and since then, they were inseparable.

Now that Camila thought about it, not much had changed since 1st grade. She was still the little girl with glasses and a ponytail, Dinah was still her savior and guardian, and well Austin was still in the picture too

"Hey four-eyes!" Speaking of the devil, Camila looked up to be met with the overwhelming smell of axe body spray and the sight of the 5'11 brown haired boy. He hadn't changed much since 1st grade, still a bully, still nasty smelling and not the best looking, still a virgin, etc.

"Hi, Austin" Camila everything but whispered, looking down at the ground as she felt a push to her shoulder, making her stumble a little back before catching her balance again and making eye contact with the young boy who was grinning at her. She heard his two best football buddies standing behind him laugh like hyenas.

"Can't you just leave me alone? Move on to somebody else? You've been doing the same thing since we were like 6" Camila asked with annoyance in her small voice, feeling scared as she talked back to him with her hands shaking by her sides.
