"Dad?"

The silence after the weighted word dropped was absolutely suffocating. The only thing Camila could hear was crickets chirping, labored breathing, and her own heart going absolutely insane inside of her ribcage. She hated the silence, but her mind was drawn completely blank for first time in her life as she stared at her father's aged face full of guilt and adoration.

The silence was finally cut when Camila heard a yell break out, "You goddamn prick!-" Dinah started to yell a string of insults and run with a violent look in her eyes towards the older man, only to be held back by Normani.

Camila wanted to say something, to feel something. Get mad like Dinah, get sad and start bawling like she wanted to so badly, feel any sort of emotion other than the absolute shock that ran through her body. But she couldn't, she couldn't feel anything, all she wanted to do was curl up on the floor and never see her father's face again.

She felt like she should be feeling more than that, she felt like she should feel happy to see his face, or feel something. But I guess, there is no real appropriate reaction to seeing your father for the first time since he abandoned you and your pregnant mother nine years before.

"Oh, Karla-" Her dad finally uttered, taking several steps forward and stopping right in front of Camila so she could really see the face that had been imprinted in her mind since she was seven years old.

He looked older, the lines on his tan skin were deeper, his eyes didn't have the happy youthful glow they used to, his large smile had left wrinkles evident on his slightly saggier cheeks, his hair had silver streaks in it, and he looked a lot shorter. But that could just be from Camilas growth.

"-You've grown into such a beautiful young woman" He finished his statement after a long pause, taking in her face with his heavily dialatid pupils.

And that's exactly what Camila needed to finally make her feel something. Except it wasn't happiness and it wasn't sadness, no it was more the route that Dinah had taken.

"Yeah, that's kind of what happens when you leave your seven year old daughter for NINE YEARS" Camila said, finding her horse voice and glaring daggers at the man a foot or two away from her.

"Mija, I'm so sorry, I-" The older man tried to explain to Camila, reaching out to place his large hand on her face full of anger. She winced back with a hiss before he could make contact with her, staggering back a few feet and glaring back at him like she wanted to rip his throat out; which she did.

"Don't fucking touch me!" Camilas voice was heavy with danger. She was holding back animalistic growls that wanted to escape her mouth, along with yellowing eyes and slicing claws.

Deep down, she knew that hurting the man that she had once considered her father was a reaction that she would most likely regret later. But the wolf inside of her was clawing to get out, to snarl and roar and make him regret every decision he had made since having her.

"Karla. I'm sorry, and I'll explain if you let me but I've brought you here for more reasoning than a reunion" The older man revealed, not reacting to the way Camila yelled and glared and hissed at his every move.

"I don't want to hear any explanation, I don't need any. You left because you are a terrible person who believed they weren't ready for the commitment of another child. You left because you are a bastard and a coward" Camila seethed at him, her eyes flickering yellow even though she was trying to help it.

Alejandros frown deepend and he couldn't help but break eye contact, looking down to his shoes and shaking his head before looking back up again "You're right, Karla. I was a coward, and you don't have to hear my side of the story if you don't wish to" He said, his voice heavy with emotion and his eyes pleading.
