Chapter 6

Camila sat in English, her back was slumped against the black chair she was sitting on and she knew she looked like a ragdoll that had it's fluffing taken out of it but she couldn't feel it in herself to care and sit up straight like her teacher always scolded her to do.

She was absolutely exhausted, once again, because no matter how hard she tried, she could only manage a few hours of sleep before her body woke up in a fit of sweat, shaking like an earthquake and her throat holding back vomit that threatened to escape her nauseous induced body. Even now she felt sick, like she wanted to throw up all the food that she hadn't been eating. She probably looked the part too.

She was considering going to the pharmacy after school and asking one of the drugged out workers which one of the medications would make her black out for a whole day, she bet one of them would tell her, and maybe even suggest some that would make her hallucinate in her sleep too.

Though she doubted that even a drug induced sleep could help her at this point.

"For this project-" at the word project, Camilas head snapped up, her eyes wide and her back straighting with alarm. She was to tired to pay attention to what was happening, but her ears kicked into the conversation happening in class once the word "project" was voiced.

"You'll be in partners" everybody in class gasped and started to talk, everybody around Camila grabbing onto each others hands and already trying to switch seats. Dinah and Camilas eyes met from a few seats aways and Dinah started to get up "That I will assign at random!" Mrs. West finished with a smile as she heard all the students in the classroom sigh with exaggeration, plopping back down on their seats with displeased expressions on their faces.

Camila and Dinah met each other's eyes and rolled them in sync before looking back up to the teacher. She started to call out pairings and Camila looked around with a deep gulp, Normani and her two friends had their trained glares directly on her to the left of the room. And her eyes traveled to the right where Austin and Jake were leaning back in their chairs with bored looks in their eyes.

Camila could only hope that she got an absolute stranger, because if not she was absolutely fucked.

She could hear Normani's pencil, it was tapping at an inhuman speed on her desk, it and the sound of the clock clicking away with the seconds passing was the only things that Camilas ears would allow her to listen to at the moment. She looked back, over to Normani who was looking straight at her with a death glare, her dark brown eyes were filled to the brim with hate that made Camila flinch in her seat, she gulped loudly and slowly turned back in her seat, slouching down once again as the sound of the pencil tapping against the wooden desk got louder and more aggressive with every second the clock ticked.

"Octavia Ann and Leo Brown"
"Ryan Dick and Daya Tiller"
"Normani Kordei and Dinah Hansen"
"Austin Mahone and Jake Houlton"
"Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui"

Camila heard her name and she looked up with a smile that dropped instantly when she heard a pencil snap from behind her only seconds later. She didn't need to turn around to know that it was Normani's pencil, the tapping stopped right after the snap. She was reluctant to look up, deciding it was better to advert her eyes to the desk then to meet the girls glare.

She felt Normani walk past her and she felt the burning glare on her, but she didn't look up to meet it, instead occupying herself with her newly facinating hands in front of her.

"Cabello!" Camila felt her stomach drop and her heart leap out of her as she jumped nearly out of her own body, she looked up in alarm and fear but was only met with the confused face of Lauren Jauregui

"Woah, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" Lauren apologized with that blinding smile of hers on show as she took the seat next to the girl. Her eye brows were furrowed and her smile had a hint of worry in it but Camila smiled brightly at the girl, melting away her doubt.
