"Do you remember what you told me before?" she asked.
"What?" he said, holding her hand, hoping for her forgiveness.
"You told me he wasted me."
"It's true—"
"How about you?" she interrupted. "Why did you put my love to waste?"
He didn't answer, for he didn't know the correct reply. He thought he'd just see her again another day and beg for her to stay.
But to her, it was their last conversation.
