She went home, surprised that what she found as she opened the door: balloons all over the place, candles romantically lit, her favorite songs on the radio, and the love of her life suited up.
"Don't tell me you're gonna propose," she said as she put her arms around his neck.
"Don't you remember?" he asked.
She panicked and looked at her phone, but she was sure there was no special event today. "I'm afraid so . . . I'm sorry if I forgot . . . What's today?"
"It's our 1,209th day today," he muttered.
"And that's . . ." she said, unsure of what he meant.
"It's our 1,209th day. Just that. And I am willing to celebrate any day with you like this," he said, "as long as my wallet can make it."
"Oh, you funny guy," she happily said then kissed her tenderly on the lips.
