Maya's pov
"Joe, don't." I say as he walks out of the kitchen. I had told him about Aiden and I due to him asking of why he hasn't seen or hear me talk about him. He comes back with his gun. Oh gosh.

"Where did you say he lived again?" Joe asked as Barry was about to speak until I covered his mouth with my hand.

"No one is going anywhere, okay?" I say to both the men. This is what I have to live with everyday of my life.

Just to make things worse, Iris walks in. "Hey guys." She said, seeming in a friendly mood right now. It's a good thing she hasn't gone coo-coo like these two. "Where you headed?"

"We are going to visit Maya's ex boyfriend, Aiden." Barry stated. He just had to say it.

"Cool—wait, what? Ex?" She question and looked my direction. This is reminded me of when I was little of how I was getting bullied by girls who hated me in general, which I never knew why. So to get back at them, Iris had spilled one of the girls chocolate milk on her 'favorite' dress. Ah, memories. "Maya, what happened?"

And back to reality. "Nothing happened, okay. Aiden and I somewhat broke up and haven't spoke to each other." I rammed on, wanting everyone to drop the subject. "Don't you have a date to go on?"

Barrys eyes widen as he speeds upstairs and out, Iris telling us she needed go to somewhere with Eddie. That leaves Joe and I. "You can put your gun down, Joe." I state as lowers his weapon. Joe has always warned us about guys that are no good for you and that he can always tell when that one guy isn't right for you.

"Maya, this is your first time being heart broken." Joe says as I sigh. It's true, I've never wanted to deal with any guy my whole life until Aiden. I gave him my everything and he ruined me. "I just want to look out for you."

I turn to Joe, "I know you do." I walk over to give him a hug. I wasn't that type of person for hug but when it came down to family, I didn't really mind. I pull away from my adoptive dad and smile. "I'm going to head out for a while. I'll be back though."

He nods as I walk out, waving him goodbye. I arrive to my destination in ten minuets from an Uber. I sit in the metal chair, waiting. He comes to view, smiling. "Hey slugger."

"Hey, dad." I smile from seeing him happy. It warmed my heart when he was always in a good mood. "How're you doing?"

"Eh, I'm doing okay but you visiting made my day a whole lot better." He replies, "How about you and Barr?"

"Oh you know, same fights, same bond. Overall we're okay." A sudden thought popped into my mind, "You know Barry has a girlfriend?"

He furrows his eyebrows, "Is that so?" He ask as I nod. I'm surprised Barry hasn't told him yet. "Well good for him." I know, right. "What about your love life?"

I freeze in my spot. "Uh...well you know, it's going great." I say in a high pitch. Dammit, should've gone with monotone. He narrows his eyes at me.

"You're lying." He states. What? How? "You always speak in a high voice when you lie."

I grunt, "Does everyone know that?" He nods and waits for me to answer the truth. "We just broke up and went our separate ways, dad."

He takes a deep breath before letting it out, "Listen Maya, I know he hurt you." He continues, "But I also know he didn't take away everything from you. He may of took the little things but most importantly, he didn't take who you are." He finished.

His words sank in. It was like talking to a motivational speaker. "Thanks dad." If this glass wasn't separating us I would shower him with hugs and 'I-love-you's'. My phone then beeps with Cisco informing me there was an emergency.
