The Doctor's Son

Chapter 15 (Flashback)

The Doctor's POV:

I heard a knock on the door before taking off "Um hello doctor,"A nurse said with what looked to be a baby in her arms

"Hello how may I help you,"I said cheerfully

"It's about Anna sir,"

"Anna! how is she?Has she recovered from the war yet?"I said as escorted the nurse inside. Anna was a young woman I met when she went into war pretending to be a young man.

"Sir she died,"The nurse said sadly

My smile disappeared when I heard those words "S-she died b-but how she was recovering so well,"I stammered

"She died during child birth,I'm so sorry."she said as she handed me the baby

I looked at him closely he was pale with light brown hair and big brown eyes. He had a lot of Anna's looks,a beautiful little boy I must say.

"He's mine?"I said with surprise,stroking the baby's head

"Anna told me to give him to you,so I'm guessing the little guy is,"She said with a smile.

As I held the tiny infant in my arms I realized that the life I live is a sufferable and tragic life for me. How would this tiny little life even have a life if I take him into mine. It was decided right there and then that I could not keep this precious little life.

"I'm sorry but I can't take him,"I blurted out as I quickly handed him back to the nurse as I walked away

"But doctor he's your son,why can't you take him? With out you he has no one,"She said as she followed behind me

"I live a life that is not fit for a child,that is why I can't take him!"I exclaimed

"But doctor..."she started

"I'm sorry I just can't take him,"I said as I escorted her out of the tardis.

I closed the door in her face and stood there in my thoughts. I never wanted another being to endure the life I live especially one such as my own flesh and blood. I never wanted anyone to be so bitter and alone such as I.

A/N:Sorry this is kind of a filler chapter of the story.But it has a good background,I promise I'll have a better part next chapter.
