Chapter 22

Dan's POV:

"Dan please don't leave me."I heard Phil say under his breath as his body quivered

"Phil?"I said as I turned to him and put my hand on top of his"Phil,Phil I'm right here I'm not leaving."I whispered as he shook more.

"Dan,"He squeaked as he curled up into a ball and began to cry in his sleep

"It's ok Phil,Its ok."I said as I hugged him and kissed his forehead.

His breath became more steady as he stopped shaking and became still "It's ok buddy I got you,"I said as I tightened my grip on him and held his hand "I got you,nothing can hurt you now."I said with a deep breath as I stroked Phil's hair.

After I said that his bright blue eyes shot open. "Dan."He whispered wearily as he stared up at me.

I looked down at him and smiled as he buried his head in my chest "You have no idea how much I've missed your voice."I said as my hands went through his hair

"Dan,How long have I been gone?"he asked as he rubbed his eyes

"About a week,almost two."I replied with a shrug

"I've been gone for almost two weeks?!"he exclaimed with a sigh"Two weeks?"He repeated sadly

"It's okay Phil."I said as I rubbed his back

"Did you ever leave me?"He asked as he looked up at me almost on the brink of tears

"Of course I didn't,"I replied softly"leaving you here by yourself is just something I couldn't do."

"You should've just left me Dan."He whimpered as he began to cry

"Why?"

"Because you have your own life to live and I don't want you to just wait for me."

I let go of him and looked straight into his icy blue eyes."But your my best friend,I wouldn't want to leave you,plus it was my fault you got in here in the first place."I said with a sigh

"Dan stop blaming yourself it's not your fault."He said with a sniffle

"But I feel responsible for all of it because your my friend and you almost died just cause I have contact with you."I said as I quickly stood up from the bed

"Dan,"He said as his hand shot up and grabbed my wrist"Being your friend is my doing,I picked you as my best friend. Timelord or human with any danger I have to overcome I'm always going to be your best friend."He continued as he looked up at me with kind eyes

"That's why I'm becoming human."I said under my breath thinking I was inaudible

"What?"He said in confusion"Dan why would you want to become human?"

"Because I don't want you to get hurt and I don't want to keep on living knowing that when you die I'll still be alive,"I said as tears streamed down my face"I don't want to live without you Phil."I said as I dropped to his bed side and cried into his sheets

"Dan,Dan,Dan,hush,hush it's going to be ok."He whispered as he stroked my hair

"I don't like living like a timelord at all."I muffled

"It's ok at least you'll be human soon."He said as he continued to stroke my hair.

I looked up at him and wiped my face with his sheets. "I just won't remember anything that happened with the daleks or with my dad,none of it. It'll all be like a dream."I explained

"So when you turn human and ask how I got the scar on my chest I can't say that I got shot by your alien dad's psycho girlfriend."He said with a chuckle
