Chapter 23

Dan's POV:

As we exited the hospital Phil still tried to convince me to not become human.

"Dan please think about what you're doing."Phil said as he gripped onto my shoulder

"Phil I have thought of it and I'm willing to become human,if it means you don't get hurt."I said firmly as I pulled away from him and continued walking

He walked fast and caught up to me."Fine if I can't stop you then I guess I'll just agree with you then,I mean that's what a good companion does, right?"He said with a smirk as our fingers intertwined

I looked at him with brightness in my eyes and pulled him into a hug. "Have I ever said thank you for being there for me."

"You don't have to say it I always know you thank me,"He said with a giggle"now come on its time for you to become human."He said as he pulled open the tardis door

"Ah,Hello boys!"The doctor said as he circled around the consul to get to us

"Hello doctor,"Phil and I said in unison

"How are you boys,are your lungs doing ok Phil?"He said with glee in his voice

"Eh,they could be better,its hard to breath still."he sighed

"I'm sorry,I hope your lungs get better soon,"He said with guilt as he looked at the floor"Any way shall we get going on turning you human Daniel."He said with a clap.

"Sure I'm ready when you are."I said in a chipper tone.

Hell I knew I wasn't fooling anyone I obviously didn't want to forget my dad but I had to keep Phil safe. I pulled him into a hug as tears began to form in my eyes."I'm really going to miss you dad."I said as I buried my face in his shoulder

"I'll miss you to Daniel,"He said as his voice cracked "I'm proud that I am your father,you are an incredible young man and I hope our paths cross again."He said with a smile as we parted

"Thank you and I hope I'm not a little asshole to you if I ever see you again"I chuckled as I wiped my face with my sleeve."Now on to making me a human."I said confidently as I walked to the chair and sat down

"Alright any last words before you become a human?"He said as he put a helmet on my head.

"I have something to say."Phil piped up with a raise of his hand

"Alright go ahead."The doctor said with a wave of his arm as he scooted out of Phil's way.

Phil walked over to the chair and crouched down beside me."I'm really going to miss our time traveling,"He whispered with a smirk"And I hope you know how lucky I am to have you as my best friend,I'd like to thank you for everything,for giving me a second chance at life."He whispered as he wrapped his arms around

"Hey,thank you for everything. Cause with out you I would've been dead in that alleyway that night."I whispered.

I had the urge to kiss him,I can tell he wanted to too. Finally I had the guts to tell him "I just want you to know how much I'm in love with you."We both blurted out

"Oh my gosh Dan I-"he was cut off as I pulled him by the collar of his shirt and collide lips with him,they felt soft and moist as if there was a spark of magic.

"I love you Phil Lester."I whispered as I let go

"I love you to Dan Howell."he said as tears fell down his cheek

"Alright boys it's time."The doctor said as he strapped me up.

Tears began to drip down my cheek as I looked at Phil standing 4 feet away from me with his tears dripping to the floor.
