*****After you have filled yourself up with your much-appreciated meal, you thank Jin for the delicious food and go back to work with Jimin. Just as you are making your way back to your desk, you pass Hoseok. His eyes light up when they see you, and he comes over as if he has something to say.
"Hey, Jiminie! Hi Y/N, hows your first day going so far?" Hoseok asks. You talk to Hoseok for a few moments about the project you have begun and the date you will need to have it completed by. When a silence settles between you, suddenly his smile drops and his face becomes uncharacteristically serious. He looks as though he has just remembered something that troubles him to think about.
"Actually Y/N, I was just coming to find you. The boss knows that it's your first day today and he has requested for you to go to his office now so he can see how it's all going for you," Hoseok tries to give you a reassuring smile, but unlike the easy grin he had been wearing all day this smile was forced and ungenuine. Your stomach drops a little. You begin to wonder why he is acting so seriously all of a sudden; is there something that you should know about the boss?
"Okay, I'll head right over," you say, trying to hide the nervousness in your voice. You really don't like the way Hoseok and Jimin are exchanging worried glances. You hope that your boss isn't unkind.
"Y/N, wait a minute. The thing is..." Jimin trails off and nibbles his plump bottom lip doubtfully.
"The boss. He's a bit... Well, he's a little..." Hoseok seems to be struggling to get the right words out. You look at the two men, puzzled as you try to decipher why there is so much wariness in their voices and expressions.
"Just watch your back, okay?" Jimin says, and he and Hoseok begin to walk away hurriedly.
"Hey! come back here!" you call, still not at all understanding what they mean. If there's something you should know about your new boss before you meet him for the first time, you sure as hell want to know what it is! You know very well that making a good impression is crucial to keeping your position, and you wouldn't want to say the wrong thing and get dismissed. You run up to the escapees and catch Jimin's sleeve. Both men stop and turn around reluctantly.
"Spill the tea," you demand, hands on your hips, and they sigh in defeat. There's no point refusing; they can see that you aren't going to let them go until they tell you.
"All I was going to say was that it's... it's best that you keep your guard up around him. He'll try to engage in casual conversation, but do your best to keep things professional," Hoseok says cautiously.
You raise your eyebrows at his cryptic reply. "Could you elaborate? I don't quite understand what you're trying to say."
"There's no point explaining because you'll see it for yourself. Don't let his looks deceive you, that thing is Satan in a suit. He lures and reels people in with his charms and empty words and then throws them back out like they're nothing. We've both seen dozens of young girls like yourself get jobs and internships here, fall head over heels for our boss and then have their hearts stepped on. He flirts with them, fools around with them and then gets bored and tells them to leave him alone. They almost always end up either resigning or being let go because they won't stop pining after him."
You look at him sceptically, finding it hard to believe that this kind of thing could take place in such a professional working environment.
"Don't say we didn't warn you. Like I said you just have to really keep your guard up. ESPECIALLY you," Jimin explains, looking you up and down in the last sentence. His action confuses you, but you brush it aside, more important questions blossoming inside your mind.
You couldn't help but think; why on earth would anyone around your age fall for the boss out of all these handsome and nice men that work here? You furrow your eyebrows in confusion. You'd pictured the boss to be some middle-aged man hunched over a desk, making phone calls and never talking to any of the employees.
"Falling for the BOSS?" you scrunch up your nose "Isn't it like, just some old guy?"
You grow more confused still as you watch Hoseok and Jimin's eyes move to something behind you. Their eyes widen in horror.
A masculine, devious chuckle rings through your ears. Scanning the petrified expressions on the faces of your two companions, you suddenly feel like running away instead of facing the thing they were gaping at. Ignoring the feeling, you slowly turn to face the person from whom this sound came from.
As soon as you lay eyes on him, your breath hitches in your throat and suddenly it's harder to breathe. You freeze in motion, your jaw dropping to the ground in suprise and shock. Your eyes are open so wide they feel as though they're going to fall right out. You begin to feel dazed and dizzy.
There, standing in front of you, is the most attractive man your eyes have ever been blessed with the sight of. You have to comment that your other co-workers are extremely attractive, but this person before you is incomparable. You realise it's probably a good idea to shake yourself back to reality before you start physicially drooling.
Come to think of it, you haven't met one single ugly person today.
