With TMNT, A Lot Can Happen (TMNT 2012 One-Shots)

Protector (Raph x Injured!Reader) PART 3

Here's the final part of my Raph x Reader One-Shot. In here, you're finally free of your wheelchair and crutches, and are now using a 'walker boot' for your injured ankle.

You and Raph have also come closer to one another, and finally admit your feelings for each other.

As he always did for the past few weeks now, Raph tapped on your window in order to gain permission to come into your apartment. Casey was the way to greet him, and let him inside with a smile.

"So, is (Y/N) here, or what?" Raph asked Casey as the two of them headed into your living room.

"She sure is," Casey answered, as he showed you off with April, sitting on the couch together, "and great news, Raph. (Y/N)'s can walk on her cast now."

Raph looked towards you, to be sure that Casey wasn't joking around. He wasn't. You were now officially wearing one of those 'walker boot'-like casts around your injured ankle. Raph knew that this meant that you were close to a full recovery, and that you wouldn't need to be looked after, anymore. But for some reason or another, he didn't want that of you. Neither did you, but not like you couldn't tell, that Raph felt that way as well.

"You sure you don't want to come with us, (Y/N)?" April then asked you, as she and Casey were about to leave your apartment for school, "you'll be able to catch on what's going on in your classes."

You shook your head in reply, "No thanks, April. I'm good. Besides," you added, briefly looking towards Raph, and said quietly that only Raph could be able pick up on, "I might as well my last night with him, the best one yet."

"Well, okay then (Y/N). Suit yourself." April replied, as she grabbed her things and went with Casey out the door of your apartment, "See you later, you two." then with that, yet again, April and Casey have left your building.

You and Raph shared an uncomfortable silence, before you felt Raph's presence next to you, on your couch. You looked towards him, and into his emerald-shaded eyes, "So, (Y/N), do you need me to get you anything?"

You took a bit of time to think about it. You knew that he was trying to be nice and all, with your injury and such. But you were than capable to do it on your own, and yet also, you didn't want to say something rude or offensive towards Raph in retrospect.

So, you took a deep breath, and asked of him politely, "Could you get some blankets and such, while I make some popcorn? We can watch (Y/F/M) again, if you'd like."

You saw a small smile appear on Raph's face, as he got up to get what you two needed, and you got up and headed into your kitchen to make the popcorn, "Sounds great, (Y/N)." Raph replied, before he headed off.

Then, once you and Raph got all of your snacks, pillows and blankets, you two sat on your couch together and watched (Y/F/M) together. You'd both laugh at the funny parts, get all emotional in some way for the really moving parts, and overall reacted appropriately towards different sections of your movie.

After the movie was done, you looked towards your window longingly. Raph noticed, and was quick to ask you, "You okay, (Y/N)?"

You then asked him, as you still started out the window, "You think we could see the stars together? I haven't been able to do it much, since my injury." you admitted.

And it was true. You spent a lot of time, asides from school, homework and hanging out with your family and friends, to see the stars from your rooftop. It helped you to clear your thoughts, and reflect on certain issues. This one, concerning your secrets feelings towards Raphael.

"And risk you further hurting yourself?" Raph questioned you, "Did you somehow hurt your head, too?"

You felt like crying, at him trying to mock your 'happy place' like that, but you tried to withhold your tears, as best as you could, "Then could you at least help me up there?" you then asked, still determined to see the stars.

Raph then sighed and said, "Alright then, (Y/N). Come on." then with that, Raph crouched down in front of you, so that you could wrap your arms around his neck, and your legs around his waist. Once you were able to hold onto him tightly, Raph carefully made his way out your window, and helped you sit on the ledge of your apartment building. Then, he sat down next to you, and looked up at the night sky.

You then smiled, and leaned onto Raph's arm, saying, "Thanks, Raph." Raph also smiled back, and welcomed you. The two of you kept looking at the stars, before Raph asked you, "(Y/N), can I ask you something?"

You looked towards him, in a bit of surprise, "Of course, Raph. What is it?"

Raph then seemed a bit nervous with choosing his next few words, with you found to be quite unlike him. He then tried to take a deep breath, to settle his nerves a bit, before he asked you his question, "How much have you cared for me, since I've been looking after you, lately?" he asked you.

You also took a second to recollect your own thoughts, before answering Raph's question, "Honestly, quite a lot. I can still remember the look your face from when I first showed you all my ankle."

"So did I." Raph admitted honestly, surprising you a bit. Raph then asked you a similar question to his previous one, "Then, how much have you cared for me, at all?"

You knew that for sure, that you weren't going to be able to hide it from him, "For a long time now, actually. I was just too quiet and dumb to say it."

Raph then placed a hand on your shoulder, "You're not dumb, (Y/N). You're perfect the way you are." You then felt his lips on your own quickly, and took a bit of time to react and melt into it.

"So (Y/N), would you like to be my girlfriend?" Raph then asked you.

You smiled sweetly, and answered him, saying, "I'd like that, Raph."

You two then kissed again, before Raph took you back to your bedroom, and you were able to visit everyone down in the lair again, standing on both feet.
