With TMNT, A Lot Can Happen (TMNT 2012 One-Shots)

Times Have Changed (Leo x OC)

This one features her OC, 12-year-old Paige Landis (Ellie's younger sister). She's a mutant salamander with mint green scales, eyes similar to Serpent Karai, teal patches on body, and light green transparent fins on tail. Unlike Ellie, Paige is soft spoken, gentle, timid, and doesn't stand up for herself, relying on her sister to do so (especially before she gets captured by the Kraang). Let's see what happens in this one, shall we?

Paige never thought, that she would've seen her sister again, (after the last of 'Just Like You').

It's been at least a year, since the turtles have taken back New York, and both Paige and her older sister Ellie were reunited.

The year before that, Paige volunteered herself to stay behind in New York, hoping to find Master Splinter. Everyone else was already on their way towards April's farmhouse, so Paige had no clue of what's happened to Leo, from the very moment he crashed through April's apartment window. She felt this way about Leo, because he was the first turtle that Paige ever got to know, when they rescued her from the Kraang.

But even upon her time alone in the city, she came upon Leatherhead, while fighting off a bit of Kraang;

"Leatherhead?" she questioned the giant crocodile mutant mid-fight, "What are you doing here?"

Leatherhead had pounded a Kraang bot down to the ground, before she answered Paige's question, "Me and the other Might Mutanimals stayed behind, to try to fight off the Kraang from their invasion."

"Well, I stayed behind to try and find Master Splinter." Paige replied, finishing off the Kraang some more.

Leatherhead finished off more Kraang, as well, "Then, where are Michelangelo, and the others?" he asked.

Paige only sighed, "They probably already left with my older sister. And, just when we were just start to reunite with each other."

Paige was then starting to cry here, so Leatherhead kindly allowed her to hug him tightly and cry it all out, onto his reptilian skin. After all, she was only 12-years-old, without her older 14-year-old sister, to be there for her, right now.

Leatherhead then patted the top of her head gently, before h looked into her tear-stained face, saying, "Come with me, I'll show you the others."

Then with that, Leatherhead took Paige back to the Mighty Mutanimals base.

Once they got there, and after a while of staying with them to fight off the Kraang and search more for Master Splinter, Paige has most definitely grown a better sense of self advocacy and bravery.

But even with those things, Paige still missed her older sister and friends. She could only hope, that they'll come back soon, safe and sound.

~TIMESKIP~

"So wait, what happened with your voice again?" Paige asked Leo, sitting on a rooftop together, close by the lair.

"Really, do I have to go over this again? Fine." Leo replied, with a slight groan in his voice.

It's been a while, since after Paige's friends and sister came back from Upstate New York and saved New York by defeating the Kraang once and for all.

Right now, Paige and Leo were catching up with each other, since they were seperated from one another.

So far, Paige told Leo all about seeing Leatherhead after they left, and about some of their most important moments, on missions involving the Kraang, since he decided to join up with the Mighty Mutanimals themselves.

Leo then also told Paige about what's happened over at April's farmhouse; healing up, the 'Creep', meeting April's 'mother', the 'Dream Beavers', the mutant frogs, 'Cimeria', and even before they came back to New York, their 'Vision Quests'. Leo's had him dealing with a giant Shredder and having to be at peace with his own spirit.

As Paige listened to him talk, she couldn't help but find the change in his voice, a not-so bad thing. It may have been because of a throat injury by Shredder, before they all had to escape New York City entirely, but to Paige, it made him sound more mature and like the leader that he was meant to be towards his younger brothers and friends. The teenage turtle mutant boy, was growing into a young man.

Leo then looked at Psige, seeing as though she drifted off into a daze, as he spoke, He paused, and tried to snap his fingers on he face, to get her attention, "Paige, you in there?" he asked her, a bit jokingly.

Paige then blinked towards Leo, before she realized that she wasn't paying attention to him anymore, and said, "Sorry," a bit quickly to avoid embarrassment.

Leo then chuckled a bit, "It's okay Paige." he reassured her, "Was there something on your mind?" he then asked her.

Paige then sighed, before choosing her next words carefully, "Only that," she began, and started to wrap her arms around Leo in a friendly hug, "it's glad that you're all back, and that you're growing up."

Leo smiled back, as well, and rubbed Paige's back in return, "Me too, Paige, me too. And guess what, you're growing up, too."

Paige and Leo then spent the next few savoury moments, to watch the sun set upon the city's horizon, with Ellie and the others carefully watching them from a safe distance.

Ellie, as well as the other turtles, were glad that Leo and Paige were glad to be together, after everything's that happened.

Hopefully, they'll still be able to stick together, for their next adventure, in the near future.
