Karai has of course, come to except the fact that she is truly, Master Splinter's daughter, Hamato Miwa.
But one night, after a fitful of nightmares involving her being back with the Shredder, she goes to the surface to clear her head.
While doing so, and also looking at her own reflection against the surfaces of buildings and whatnot, she sings Lea Salonga's cover of Disney Mulan's 'Reflection'.
This way, she hopes to fully know, of who she's supposed to be.
Protecting New York lately, hasn;t been the easiest task for a while. With the Shredder, now the 'Super Shredder', seeking his final revenge against the Hamato Clan, and other sorts of petty crimes going on, the clan in question haven't had much of a break.
Right now, the turtles, April, Casey, Shinigami and Karai were in the turtle's lair, discussing their next plan of action.
However, none of the others knew, that Leo, Karai and Shini, had been secretly trying to stop the Shredder themselves. Starting with, his own forces and resources.
As Donnie had set up a model New York for the others to see, Karai pulled her mutant brother Leo off to the side a bit.
"Leo, you think they'll find out what we've been up to, lately?" Karai asked him, a bit worried they their friends, and her own father, found out about their little 'outings'.
"Don't worry, Karai." Leo told her with an encouraging smile, "they don't even have a single clue yet. Just relax."
Karai nodded at Leo's response, but she still felt uneasy with the whole idea, as it was.
Eventually, after trying to take down Shredder's Foot-bot factory, and making sure that Donnie was okay, Karai went to bed to try to stop off the whole experience.
However, almost like any thing else that's been going on lately, this was more easily said than done;
Karai was walking through the abandoned streets of New York, not sure of what was going on.
Looking around, Karai had an unnerving feeling from deep down in her stomach, that she wasn't completely alone.
"Did you really think, that you could hide from me, 'daughter'." an unnervingly familiar voice sounded, making it hard to tell of where exactly, it was coming from.
Karai then quickly turned this way, and that way, trying to find the obvious stalker near her.
"Come on out, Shredder!" Karai then called out, pulling out her tanto and getting into a fighting stance, "And fight me like a man!"
Karai then couldn't be able to hear him anymore, and this made her fear for the worst.
She quickly then climbed to the top of a building, hoping to get a better view, of where the 'Super Shredder' was trying to hide.
Karai then suddenly felt something grabbing her arms, and hang her over the edge of the roof. She looked with terrorfied eyes, that it was the Shredder.
She tried to break free, but she also felt her own body being crushed, by a laughing mutant samurai leader of the Foot Clan.
She tried to hold in her cries of pain, but she couldn't. This then only made the Shredder, laugh even harder & longer.
Karai quickly woke up in a cold sweat, not being able to get the horrid nightmarish memories out of her head.
Seeing no point in going back to sleep, and shaking her head, she snuck out of her room, the lair, then the sewers, towards the surface.
