'Dancing On My Own' (Donnie x Reader Songfic)

Here's a Donnie x Reader Songfic, that I'd like to share with you guys. The guys are just in the lair, having a dance party. April and Casey also tell each other that they love each other, and Donnie overhears them, and is very upset about it.

Then, in his sadness, he starts to sing 'Dancing On My Own' by Calum Scott, as he watches the two of them dancing together.

At the end of the song, you the reader, are the one to comfort him and make him feel better.

"Hey guys, we're here!" April called out as she, Casey, and yourself headed into the lair.

"Hey guys." Leo greeted them politely.

"What's up?" Mikey asked you all cheerfully, and giving out hugs.

"S'up?" Raph added, as he fist-bumped Casey.

"You know, just the usual." April said to Mikey, as he let her go.

You nodded in agreement.

Donnie also came out of his lab, and saw his red-haired crush with love-struck grin. But then, it completely faltered when he saw his fellow competitor; Casey Jones. He then looked towards you. His relationship with you, was a bit of a weird one. You two of course were friends, by suspect-able cliche outcomes, but for some reason, Donnie was also growing this weird sort of aura whenever you two were together. He just couldn't seem to figure out what it was, but then again in retrospect, you only knew a little part of it.

Donnie was then snapped out of his thoughts, when Mikey suggested a dance party, as a way to kick off into the weekend. You all thought, that it was a good idea. Leo went off to ask Master Splinter, while you and your two human friends started to get permission from your own parents.

Then, in some way or other, you were all able to have the dance party in the dojo. Mikey brought out a stereo from his room, and started to play some music from it. It had all kinds of tracks, and you all danced to them all, in your own ways.

Eventually, as you were all dancing, Donnie looked over towards April and Casey, after watching you dance a bit. He somehow, over the sounds of the music, overhear their two teen friends talking to one another. What he heard, Donnie wished he didn't have to hear, in the first place;

"Hey Red, can I ask you something?" Casey asked April, looking into her bluebell-coloured eyes.

"Uh, sure Casey. What is it?" April asked him in reply.

"You know we've know each other for a long time now..." Casey began.

"Yeah?" April responded.

"And I was just wondering, well, would you like to go out with me sometime and be my girlfriend?"

April then had pure happiness in her face, while Donnie's only showed pure horror and heartbreak. She didn't need to say anything else to Casey, to say that she for sure, wanted to do just those two things.

Donnie couldn't be able to believe either his eyes or ears, as he was the only one to witness it all. He thought that he did all he could, to get April to notice him. And yet, he seemed to have failed. It was the worst feeling, that Donnie had over experiences in his life.

In the next moment, the rest of the dance party seemed to have become frozen in time, as a fitting slow song came on. Donnie's environment all around them, then seemed to blacken, only leaving him, April, Casey and yourself, in the light.

Donnie watched in sadness, as April and Casey held each other, and began to dance together, for the first time ever, as a new couple. As they danced, Donnie seemed to sing along, to the song that was currently playing.
