Chapter 25  

A deal's a deal

Angie POV  

I still haven't talked to Jace yet. I have to ignore him in school because he could ruin my reputation but I am worried that our project will fail because of that. I meet up with Hannah and Vanessa and can immediately feel tension in the air. Something happened that I don't know of but what? I try to hide my curiosity and change the subject.  

“I can't believe Jace thinks that I am a whore and theát I would sleep with Matt, the egoistic asshole!” I say not noticing that I just talked to two people who did.  

“No offense guys!” I say with an awkward smile.  

“Non taken!” Hannah say, as if she weren't listening.Thank god! If she had listened she would probably be strangling me and ripping out my guts with her vicious nails.  

“I just don't know how to get him to not ignore me! After all we have this giant project and I will not suffer for him not doing his work!” I say, trying to lead all of Nessi suspicion away from me.  

“I happen to know quite a lot about him. I will tell you if you don't ask any questions, got it?” she says daring.  

“Okay? So tell me!” I say impatiently. What has gotten over me? This is so weird. I never wanted to get to know him that well and here I am now doing exactly the opposite.  

“So Matt and Jace were best friends since uuhm... forever. But then Matt caught my... uh... his dad cheating on his mom with a playboy. That is why Jace hates him so much.” she says.  

“Matt and Jace? BFFs? Yeah right!” I say but her face is dead serious.  

“Okay. But then how do you know all this?” I ask her.  

“I said no questions!” she says and walks away with a cheeky smile. How does she know so much about him? Are they together? Is he cheating on me? We aren'z even together or anything. But it feels like we should. What did I just say? Oh my god! Luckily I see Matt sauntering across the hall. I quickly run up to him and I I can already feel that this is going to be awkward.  

“Hey Matt!” I say trying to sound casual.  

“You girl are so needy. But okay fine, where and when should I fuck you?” he says.  

“Wait, what? I am not one of those bitches you 'fuck'! You have to do me a favor!” I say.  

“And exactly why would I do you a favor?” he says, kind of insulting me.  

“Because otherwise the whole world can find out that you actually didn't really win that bet. That you actually lost because I rejected you. So what do you say?” I tell him, looking into his face. He is really torn.  

“Okay fine. What do you want me to do?” he says.  

“You have to talk to Jace.” I say.  

“No way in hell!” he says.  

“What about our deal.” I say, putting my blackmail face on.  

“Ugh! Okay. And what should I tell him?” he says angrily.  

“You should ask him to forgive me and that I have to talk to him. Urgently.” I say slowly so he can understand everything.
