Chapter 26  

Bromance

Matt POV

I have nothing better to do than wasting my time sitting on the stairs in front of my ex-best friends apartment! But this has to be done. Otherwise she will tell everybody that I didn't succeed and that would be the end for me. Suddenly I get ripped out of my thoughts when I see a figure standing in front of me. Jace.  

“What are you doing here?!” Jace asks.  

“Nice to see you too!” I reply. What a great beginning.  

“Answer my question!" he says aggressively.  

"Sorry bro. I have orders!" I reply.  

"Don't 'bro' me. I hate you and you know that!" he answers.  

"Please forgive Angie." I say pleadingly.  

"I can't. No after what she did. With you." he says. He has troubles with saying the last part.  

"Sorry to burst your bubble. But that kind of never happened."  

"Wait, what? So you never did anything with her?" he asks shocked.  

"Nah." It is so funny to see him all excited about a girl. If I could still feel that happy about someone I'd be so happy. I just don't get to know people. And I also don't let them to get to know me.  

"Why did you cut me out?" I ask. Did just say that? Now I am letting this unwanted sensitive side of me show. This seriously can't get any better.  

"Because you caused my parents to divorce!" he shots back at me.  

“I caused your parents to divorce! You are just denying that it would have happened sooner or later so you found someone to blame it on! Me! Come on. You know I  am right. I mean, years have passed and you haven't even considered forgiving me?” I say disappointed.  

“I know you're right. But still. Can you blame me? And by the way I forgive you.” he says. I don't know why but it feels like the weight of the world has bee lifted from my shoulders.  

“Thanks bro!” I say, pulling him into a hug.  

“But there is one thing you have to help me with.” he says shyly. Okay what? He is kind of scaring me.  

“Me and girls are kind of like a no-go. And yes I will forgive Angie for something she didn't even do but first (let me take a selfie!) I want her to be surprised when I come back back to school after the weekend. And you have to help me and give me a few tips.” he says.  

“And why would I want to do that?” I ask.  

“First of all. I thought we were friends bro?! Giving up on me so easily and secondly. I know your little secret. You know the one where you didn't actually win the bet!” he says.  

“Fine! When shall we start?” I say.  

“How much time you think we need.” he says.  

“Okay. Better start now if you want to look half as good as me.” I say teasingly.  

“Great.” he says. I guess, we just reunited. And I am kind of happy. I missed having a best friend. And now I have to help him with his looks. This is going to be a long weekend ahead of us!

And I still have this project with Hannah and Nessi. Threesome alert! I am already in Jaces apartment so I send them both a text. They are both down with it. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!
