"How did you know about my blood type. I'd also like a huge explanation. It better be good."I felt my eyes widen dramatically.
"First of all, I am a vampire. I can smell it. By the way, O-neutral blood isn't exactly simple to resist. You're lucky I ate earlier. Anyways, you don't have plans, do you? It'll be a while..."He looked up from his feet to look me in the eye.
"Go ahead."
"When I was seven, my two brothers and I were playing outside. We were playing football and Lenny threw the ball too far so I went to retrieve it. A vampire was feasting on a coyote he caught. The ball was about five feet away from him. He came up to me and bite my neck.
"Of course, I screamed. Lenny came running to my rescue, just to be bit too. We were struggling to free ourselves of the sensation. The fiery feeling, worst than anything I've even experienced before."
"What's it like being a vampire?"I manage to get out over the pain of talking due to my injury.
"It isn't no Twilight fantasy. Honestly, it has its positives and negatives. It's hard to sit here honestly and not bite you. Your blood smells, "He took a big whiff of the air."irresistible."
A shiver sprung through my body instantaneously. I oughta' get use to this. Hopefully not get bitten either. Cameron looked everywhere but at me, as if I did something to embarrass him.
"Who did I get the text from then? Do you have any sort of clue?"I pressed.
"Aaron. The Vampire King. He's been searching for, well, uh....."Cameron trailed off.
"Searching for what?"
"A mate."I let that sink in.
A mate? Is he crazy? I don't even know him, and he doesn't know me .Maybe Cameron's on drugs.... or I just don't understand. A who-knows-how-old man named Aaron wants me to be his soul mate? Nope.
"So what do I do?"
"Learn to trust me. I can protect you if you trust me to and give me a chance. I know this is fast, but Aaron is bound to strike soon. When a vampire of his power wants something, they get it, no questions asked."
"So what does this 'protect you' entitle?"I raise an eyebrow.
"If you go far away, I should go in case anything happens. If you get bit, the only person who can reverse it is another vampire, of course."
"I've always wanted a Edward Cullen bodyguard!"I dramatized.
"What the hell did I get myself into?" He muttered under his breath.
"What happened yesterday, Foust? With the coyote?"He raised his eyebrow this time, a smirk playing on his face.
"Umm... I just dropped my keys and got, trapped."
"Sure. Whatever you want to believe, you were looking for Carrie and the coyote scared you? So out of nervousness you dropped your keys and backed up into a tree."
"Stalker."I retorted.
He chuckled. What was so funny about it? If he stalks me, well that's creepy. Very creepy. I brushed it off, getting up and walking to the kitchen to grab a water bottle. Cameron followed slowly, I then seated myself on the island so I wouldn't have to stand.
"I have to go, Foust. Bye."He spoke.
"K. Bye."
I watched him leave, his footsteps leaving echoes behind as the door closed silently.
