"Get up, babe. I have things to do."Aaron shook me lightly.
"I'm not your babe."I sighed, finally getting up.
"Go get a shower, you have clothes in there, hurry up."
I happily got up and took a shower. The hot water prickled my skin back to life. I dried off with the towel then discovered the clothes in a small basket. A flowing, dark purple dress was folded up nicely. A pair of black ballet flats were on the floor next to the door. I place them on my feet and see Aaron sitting in a chair, waiting patiently. His shirt matched the shade of my dress perfectly.
"Let's go."He grabbed my hand.
"What's in today's planner?"I asked lamely.
"Things to do. You and your friend will be put in a cell again for a few hours. I have a first date to plan."
"Fantastic!"I stated sarcastically.
He opened a door, revealing a dimly lit room. The walls were tan with mahogany floors.
"He should be here in a few minutes, get comfortable."Aaron winked then left.
I waited for Cameron to arrive. What I though was ten minutes, he arrived. Leah dropped him off then left.
"I need out. Today."I complaint.
"I know. I heard you screaming the other day. Are you OK?"He embraced me.
"He tried to have sex with me. He wants to have a first date. Today. No way I'm doing that."I admitted.
"Before I got captured, Lenny, Cole and I agreed that if any of us got captured, that two days later they would get us out. So its been two days, we should be freed today."
"What about Carrie? Will we get her out today?"
"I don't know. We'll try, but I'm not promising anything."
"Okay."I sighed.
"Did Aaron actually do anything the other day?"
"No. Not like that. I don't want to talk about it now."
"It's fine."
I looked around the room for anything that could be useful. A table, a window, a vase. We could break the vase...
"Is the door locked?"I thought out loud.
Cameron walked over to the door and twisted the knob. It clicked and opened. We exchanged glances, then smiled. The corridor was clear except for a few people busy on computers.
This was too easy. Cameron wrapped an arm around my shoulders and we walked around, searching for an exit sign. After walking around for an hour, I got tired. We stopped in an abandoned hallway, figuring out what to do next.
"This place is bigger than I thought."Cameron stated the obvious.
"When he finds out we're gone, he'll be pissed. I hope he doesn't find us though."
"This place is too big. It would take him forever to find us from there."
"Couldn't he just track my scent?"I inquired.
"Yeah."Cameron whispered.
I tilted my head to the side as he dragged me into a doorway. We wouldn't be seen by anyone of they weren't looking. Aaron and Leah walked by, paying no attention to us. He hadn't seen us, phew!
"We need to get out of here. Fast."Cameron ordered, leading me in the direction Aaron and Leah came from.
We walked for about five minutes until someone tapped my shoulder. I looked behind me to see Lenny and Cole. Containing my excitement, I hugged both of them tightly.
"How do we get out?"Cameron asked tightly.
"Just keep going."Lenny pointed forwards.
We walked a while before coming to another corridor. At the end of it, about a good 700 feet, was an exit sign. A door was below the glowing red letters, seeming like a gateway to heaven. Suddenly, someone started yelling. We all looked at each other then ran. The door seemed to get farther away the faster we sprinted.
Lenny was holding the door open, rushing us to the outdoors. I stepped foot out and felt free at last. Lenny piled rocks and cinder blocks outside the door before leaving the insiders banging on it.
I took one last glance, giddy to forget this place.
"Do you know where to go from here?"I asked cautiously, not wanting to get lost.
"Yeah."Cole answered quickly.
With no warning, I was pinned against a tree. I felt a sharp pain in my neck, the pain twisting into a fiery burn. My eyes fell onto the brown hair of Aaron. I wanted to scream but couldn't, my lungs felt as if they were engulfed in flames.
"Damn you!"I heard Lenny exclaim.
My eyes felt heavy as the blood drained from my body. Another sharp pain shot through my neck as Aaron was ripped away from me. Black began to cover my eyes and I fell unconscious to the floor of the woods.
I didn't know if I should try to wake up or stay asleep. I had no idea what to do. So I let the darkness sweep me away. He shook my shoulders, yelling for me to wake up. But the dark felt good and I didn't want to face my reality. Not yet, not now.
