Stevie Nicks sat with a bottle of red wine in the cold, lonely hotel room. The walls were a dull cream, the carpet was a boring beige and the bed she was sitting on felt soft but so empty. She still missed Lindsey so much and still was feeling terrible about their break up. She was happy that the new Fleetwood Mac album was going very well, besides all the fighting. Christine and John were also splitting up now too and hardly spoke unless it was about a song. Lindsey was being sarcastic, arrogant and mean, Stevie wanted to hate him for it but she just couldn't, she knew she was the one who had caused these feelings in him because she had ended their relationship. He was always overprotective and controlling of her and he got annoyed when she started breaking free and becoming more independent as Fleetwood Mac gained its fame. Sometimes she wanted to slap Lindsey's face other times she wanted to make love to him. They were barely talking as well, unless they were fighting. One of the best times was when she had written the song "Dreams" within ten minutes and recorded a demo, she had had taken it to Lindsey and he even admitted how good it was, at least, most of the time, he respected her music and song writing. She had to stop thinking about him, this is all she mostly did, it drove her crazy. She placed her glass on the nightstand and got up, heading to the vanity, unscrewing the vial like pendant on her gold necklace and tipping some of her secret stash of cocaine onto the wooden surface in three lines. She grabbed her tasselled, brown leather bag and pulled out her wallet, she opened it and pulled out a twenty dollar bill, rolling it up and quickly snorting the white powder, which instantly eased her mind. She looked at herself in the mirror, she thought she looked so depressed noticing a sadness in her golden eyes. Her caramel curly hair, looked slightly messy and her make-up looked smudgy. She felt as though there was weight in her stomach and chest, like a big boulder of sadness, she often felt like this when she was alone, at least until the alcohol and cocaine or dope kicked in.
She stepped back over to the bed grabbing her glass and taking mouthful then her mind start wondering to Don Henley, he used to treat her like a wife and their relationship was going good until she got pregnant in a drug fuelled all nighter with him. She had wanted the baby so much, she had already named her, she just knew it was girl, her little Sara. She had told Don about it and he was so angry it happened. He had shouted at her that she was a dumb, drug addict who was trying to trap him. She had broke down, she went to the doctors, she wanted to keep the baby, after all she had already had a miscarriage years before. She remembered seeing the screen as the ultrasound was done, that tiny life growing inside of her. But, the doctor had said with the amount of drugs and alcohol, the baby would have many problems and the doctor also said she thought it had heart problems and recommend an abortion. Stevie did research and didn't want to have a child who would greatly suffered, so she booked an appointment, she wasn't ready to be a mother anyway and convinced her self it was the right thing to especially after how Don treated her. She held her stomach and apologised to her Sara as she walked in the doors and detoured to the bathroom, snorting a large amount of cocaine. The rest she wanted to forget and was only a blur anyway. She cried for days and lived in a drug and alcohol haze for weeks, it was done. She wanted to take it all back and let Sara have more of a chance but, now it was gone it didn't matter anymore, at least she had written a song about it all. Tears flowed from her eyes as she downed the rest of the wine, she wiped them off and refilled her glass when there was a loud knock on the door. Stevie stumbled over, feeling the effects of the substances washing over her. She opened the door.........
