You were dreading this day since you got the invitation. The love of your life was getting married and it wasn't to you.
She looked amazing but he, he looked exactly like you had dreamt for years. He was your best friend since high school and you knew you had loved him since you went to prom together.
Nothing happened, and now nothing ever will.
This wasn't going to be you standing up for your love like Jackson did for April. You were going to sit in the back, partially drunk, and try not to cry. You didn't want to mess it up for Conor. He seemed to really love this girl.
"Thank you for coming. I couldn't have imagined this day without my best friend here." He gave you a hug at the reception. Even though you wore water proof makeup, you still tried to hold yourself together until you were in the hotel bath tub with a bottle of wine.
"I wouldn't have missed it for the world, Con. Have a good rest of the night." You squeezed his hand before you walked away to have one last drink.
You were standing by the bar, watching people dance and have a better time than you when the bride came to talk to you.
"Thank you so much for making it here. Conor was so worried you wouldn't be able to come."
"Anything for my best friend. You look gorgeous, by the way."
