Chapter 1
//Rose//
"Sup Rose?" I heard a voice say to me.
"Hm?" I looked up from my book and smiled. "Hey, Chris."
Christian Brooks, my best friend.
My boy best friend to be exact.
He's not my boyfriend or anything.
As you can tell, my name's Rose. Yes, the flower.
It's not like there's another thing called rose, am I right?
"Whatcha reading?" he asked sitting down beside me.
I looked at him in eye and said, "The very book that we need to read for Mythology Class that you haven't even started."
"Well, it's boooorrrriiinnggg!" Chris complained, sighing.
I swatted a hand at him. "It's not boring! It's interesting. Do you know that the two most important gods on earth are Demeter and Dionysus because of the fact that--"
"Boring!" Chris protested, putting a finger to my lips to shush me. "Demeter. Who needs Demeter anyway?"
"The Greeks need Demeter," I huffed, pushing away his finger from my mouth. "You smell disgusting."
"Thanks," Chris rolled his eyes in sarcasm. "Why read Greek mythology when you can play video games and socialize."
I raised my eyebrows "Chris I'm already socializing by just talking with you. Also, keep talking like that and I'll kidnap you in the middle of the night and kick you off a goddamed cliff."
"Someone's cranky today."
"Just so you know, I'm not on my period."
"I'm not that stupid.
"Just shut up will you?"
"Fine, fine." He sighed, "Hey, I'm going to Mark's house this evening for movie night. Wanna come?"
"Sorry but no, it's Monday." I replied to him immediately, putting all my attention on the book in front of me. "Besides, I'd like to finish this book tonight. Also," I looked at my best friend in the eye. " Mark's house just smells like smoked weed 24/7."
"Aww c'mon Rose just join him" a familiar voice squealed.
I turned to see my girl best friend Madison Brown.
"You join him instead." I said smugly, smirking at here.
Madison's face turned red.
Majority of the school knows Madison has a major crush on Chris.
Except Chris doesn't know.
Even the teachers know, for goodness sake!
Madison sat down beside me, casually trying to hide her blush. "Nahhh I got homework. I hate my class. Ms. Parker gives us homework everyday! I hate it"
"Madi, we all hate it" I teased her.
"I told you don't call me Madi!" Madison protested, pouting. "It makes me sound ten years old!"
"Are you not?" I answered her innocently.
"Oh come on!" she complained tossing her hair off her shoulder dramatically. I'd say to describe her hair, you could call it ginger. But it more looks like orange. So you can call her orangehead. Or maybe ponkanhead and maybe kiatkiathead.
