Epilogue

The air smelled of pine and dampness.

Just my type of weather.

Autumn.

Maybe I got that from my mom.

After all, she does really like autumn.

I love autumn too.

I pulled my coat closer to me.

The wind was getting stronger, and the temperature was desperately decreasing by the minute.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and the familiar melody of "Crossing Field" (yes without an 's') from an old Anime I used to watch filled my ears.

"Hello, Astrid?"

"Hey Rose!" she greeted "can you stop by today?"

"Can't. Sorry" I said "publisher's orders. He said "Ms. Loyola, if you are not here tomorrow by seven thirty in the morning, I will quit being your manager!" I did my best publisher impression

Astrid laughed on the other line "How 'bout after work then?"

"Ah, sorry. I'm meeting with Madison after work. I haven't seen her in ages! After she moved to Nashville to work at Taylor's learning center. I'm surprised they still kept it open"

"Yeah, me too" Astrid said "ah, I gotta go now. Good luck on your book!"

"Thanks, Astrid" I hung up and breathed in the fresh air

It was a wonderful day in New York.

I'm 25 now, if you didn't know.

So is Madison.

Astrid's 22.

Mum and dad (or should I say Taylor and Ed) are sixty now and they still live in the Philippines.

It's been years.

If you hadn't figured it out, I'm a writer.

Astrid's a voice actress and own a restaurant.

Madison, I think we have her cleared.

It feels like so long ago when Madison and I were sixteen and searching for Taylor Swift, I mean, Taylor Sheeran.

But I guess...

I sighed, and a puff of white air came out of my mouth.

I never really did get to become a detective.

Maybe it just wasn't meant for me.

But sometimes, there are things better, that what you want.

My name is Rose Loyola-Sheeran, and I shared my story of being The Lucky One to you.

Swift out!
