Chapter 9

[Hinata's POV]

What should I do? I am laying on the same bed with Naruto and he is extremely big to fit with me. I'm almost on top of him, our legs tangled and his right arm still encircled around me while the other one is holding my head, it's as if I'd run away and this is his best idea to prevent me from doing so.

I look at him and his eyes are already closed, ready to be completely asleep anytime. I shifted uncomfortably trying to find the perfect position but there's no such thing.

This setup is being pushed so much it's obvious we didn't fit, can we just call it off and try next time?

"H-hey." I mumbled lightly tapping his chest.

"Hmm?" I heard his throaty grumble, he's probably trying his best to speak in midst of falling asleep.

"I can't sleep like this. It's too uncomfortable." I whined like a little girl.

One eye open and met mine, he hoist me up so that I am now completely on top of him and it feels more comfortable than barely hanging to join him on my small bed. But then, I realized that our position is completely ridiculous, my cheeks burned, this is not what I want.

"Better?" He murmured and shifted as well to adjust from my sudden weight on top of him. "It'll be a week if I didn't sleep tonight. Imagine how tired I am? I need this."

Please find someone else.

I wanted to say but he sighed in contentment after a long silence between us and then his chest heave a steady pace, he is already sleeping.

Just tonight. I tried to make myself believe it so that I can fall asleep as well, I put my head on his chest and hear the silent beating of his heart, mine is nothing like his. It's beating fast and ready to burst anytime.

I choose to let my head stay there and listen to the beating of his heart that is surprisingly calm. It's soothing and my eyes are getting heavy as well.

I know it's wrong. By all means, this is completely wrong.

But I don't have it in me to reject him. Even if I told myself I don't want it, I always do the opposite.

What would my father say if he saw me right now, sleeping on top of a man I barely knew?

Warm rays of the sun greeted the city of Konoha early in the morning as the birds starts chirping, waking people up from their slumber.

Crowd is slowly appearing from the bus point and train stations while the stores are opening up, starting another day.

Ichiraku's is no different, the daughter of the owner open the lights up and change the sign board from closed to open. Their business is in demand in weekends so there's not a single day that they don't open the place.

While the cooks are busy in the kitchen, the gate on the fire exit remain closed as two people don't bother to move away from the warmth of the sheets.

From the small window of Hinata's room, strip of sun rays illuminates giving light to the now dark room because of the turned off light.

Naruto squint his eyes when it's been exposed to the light and heat of the sun and he instantly rub it, waking up from his long peaceful sleep.
