[Naruto's POV]
"It's the wedding day! Come on, now! Don't sulk in here!" Kiba said, looking so happy and ecstatic early in the morning.
We have to wake up 6 in the morning for preparations before the wedding starts at 10. I really wonder how in the hell girls can take 4 long hours to prepare their appearance and everything.
Especially now that Sakura is as big as a whale, I really doubt she'll ever be satisfied to her look now that she's like that.
"I'd really appreciate it if you get me some breakfast." I told him, rolling to the other side of the bed so I can enjoy my little private space.
But the damned dog is so pushy.
"Aww, why now? Come on, down. Hinata told you she'd come, right? Don't you wanna see her? It's been—"
"Two months. I know because I barely sleep." I said, rolling my eyes. It's true. I never really properly slept.
"I thought you were miraculously cured?" Kiba asked, doesn't he know when to shut up? I know friends are good but sometimes you just want to strangle the life out of them.
"I don't get nightmares anymore, okay? I can sleep 'peacefully' but she's not here. She's not by my side and heaven knows what she's doing right now, I couldn't find a pair of balls to talk to her again so I'm not in peace. I couldn't forget. I don't want to forget her too." I confessed. All the sleepiness rubbing off me.
"Damn, chill bro. I did not ask, you know?" He smiled. That same knowing smile.
What could it possibly mean? Now that she's gone what else could they mean with their fucking knowing smiles.
"Maybe you should get your ass off the bed and come down to join us for breakfast. Maybe you'll see the person you've been longing for downstairs. Just, maybe..." Kiba said, jiggling his keys before he left my room.
What the hell? She's that early?
I know I've been waiting for this day, aside from Sasuke that I'm really proud of for tying the knot. But I'm more excited to see her.
I know she'll come because she said so.
Without wasting any second, I got up to freshen up and change my clothes to look decent. I never really cared for my appearance these days but Hinata, I want her to see me in my best form.
Like she always do.
Walking down the stairs and searching for every corner of the living room while people are busy chattering, I walk over passed them and head straight to the kitchen. Kiba is already waiting for me with a wine glass on both his hands.
"She's not here." I said, glaring at him for tricking me.
"Now... but she will be here later. And I want you to look healthy by first, a toast!" He declared, getting everyone's attention and they all followed his gesture.
"You do realize I haven't eaten anything yet? Why alcohol? Early in the morning, are you insane?" I asked him questions while keeping my image good as they anticipate us to start chugging down our glasses.
"Just pretend, big boy. Everyone's watching now." He whispered, smiling to everyone who's eyeing us.
I sighed and lift my glass with a heavy heart, a forced smile stretched my lips and I pretended to drink the thing for a moment before they lift their glasses and emptied it.
"See? It's easy to pretend right?" Kiba said, looking like a proud dad.
"And your point is?"
"Just pretend to be happy for one day, will 'ya? It's our best friend's wedding. We don't wanna ruin it, aren't we?"
