Chapter 18

[Hinata's POV]

"Would you like to enlighten my confused self what is going on, Hinata?"

It surprised us both, distancing ourselves to one another, breaking that magical moment I thought I could never initiate.

A smiling pink-haired and her partner is looking at us like we're a juicy news they need to know... asap.

Naruto chuckled, looking so bashful and decided to leave the talking to me as he turn his back on them and lean on the railing, pretending to love nature when he clearly don't.

Thanks for the back-up.

I smiled at my friend who had her eyes set on me, as if silently telling me she'd kill me right now for being so stupid and at the same time happy to what she's seeing.

Well last night before they send me home, she told me to keep the walls up, be a proud girl, defend myself and so on...

And this is what she walk on to with her soon-to-be hubby. I felt so stupid but happy and just plainly moron for loving a man... who can't set his mind straight.

"I-it's not like what it looks like..." I said, cold sweats running down my forehead.

What a lame excuse. I wanted to slap myself.

Sasuke chuckled shaking his head in disbelief, "We are not kids. We know exactly that you two are having an exchange of saliva earlier."

We didn't.

I scrunched my face in disgust. Just the thought of anyone's saliva going inside my whole system is very... very gross.

Yet I let him do that last night... not that I can fight him off the first time we met too. But still, if I will kiss Naruto, I don't want the saliva to be a part of it.

Our lips just happened to be touching one another... for a bit longer than expected. Then they walk in on us looking like ducks with puckered lips.

"Did I just saw disgust in that pretty face?" Sakura laughed, clenching her still flat stomach. "Damn, Naruto. Someone is disgusted in your... your... well, you. In general."

A pissed off Naruto finally looked at us with an angry glare especially for me, "Is that so, Hinata?" His eyes full of fire... the different kind of fire... really.

I am so dead later.

We spend the day eating and exploring the whole area, in which I found out, is bigger than I thought it is. Pools, spa, restaurants, you name it and it's in there. Though the exact place that they're reception is going to be held at is quite far from those recreational things. It is a bit high up in the forest and with a little hike, a big modern cottage is standing just atop of the cliff and it gives you better views of the two cities.

Of course we have a grumpy old man in our company, Naruto is as irritated as ever with my earlier comment and his 'love' for nature combining. It surely put an end to his patience and he often curses or groan in disapproval every chance he can.

We just chose to ignore him after minutes of trying to console him for whatever reason he have for hating everything at that time. He almost sounded like me when I'm on my period. Thank the heavens I just finished mine a few days ago so I'm very much the same patient me.

"You expect me to be the best man and climb with you while smiling in this hot weather?" Naruto whines.

Sasuke just rolled his eyes, ushering his pregnant fiancé inside the cottage.
