(Y/N)'s P.O.V
It wasn't long into the morning before I was sitting down and eating breakfast. Sitting at the head of the table, Lauren was sat down on my left while Camila was on my right. Ally was beside Lauren as I overheard her and Dinah arguing about how Dinah was distasteful towards my mate.

"So where have you been (Y/N) all this time?" Camila was beaming warmly towards me as she ate what was in front of her. Banana pancakes. Of course. I could remember when we were younger how she would be hooked on the fruit.

"At the ruins. In the basement. I was surprised that it was still intact." I stated, looking towards Camila.

"Who would've imagined that. You were under my nose all along." Camila giggled lightly causing me to smile. Looking backdown at my food, I began to eat once more.

A few minutes of silence had passed amongst the table. It wasn't awkward as I expected it to be but instead, extremely comfortable. I could feel a gaze looking at me from the side of my skull and I immediately knew it was Lauren due to feeling her giddy emotions.

Looking out of the corner of my eye, I smirked as Lauren blushed gently at being caught for staring at me.

"So Lauren, how long have you known (Y/N)?" Camila asked, her attention now on Lauren. It seemed that the whole table's attention was on Lauren.

I could sense the nerves seeping out of her and by sensing that, I gently grabbed her hand and rested it on top of the table.

"At least a few weeks...maybe a month."

"And you're close?"

"I would say we're close." Lauren smiled warmly up towards me. Just by looking at her in this angle, I wouldn't of thought she was supposed to be my sworn enemy.

"I'm glad. The stories about you aren't all what they're meant to be." Camila beamed happily towards Lauren.

"Stories? What kind?"

"You know, the ones where parents will tell their children to makes them stop doing something like if you don't go to bed on time, the vampires will get you in, our case of course." Camila chuckled nervously, obviously not wanting to cause any offence to Lauren.

"You're actually one of the nicest vampires I've met."

"Camila you can't be serious." Dinah cut in, dropping her cutlery in shock causing all of our attention to be drawn to her.

"I'm serious. She hasn't caused us any harm and...I know the look that you two give each other." Camila was now exchanging looks towards the both of us.

"That is a love for a mate."

Those words made my heart warm, knowing how much I loved Lauren. Smiling widely, I turned to Lauren only to see her looking back at me with the same reaction.

"My parents used to look at each other the same way...and it's beautiful to see you too with it." Camila stated.

"Mila, are you not listening to yourself? She's a vampire! She's the same kind that killed your family! That killed (Y/N)'s! That killed-"

"Dinah! Don't you see!" Camila snapped, cutting the angry Polynesian girl off.

"They could be the two who could unite us all.....So shut your damn mouth!" To say that we were all surprised by Camila's outburst was an understatement. However, I was thankful for it.

I never thought that Lauren and I could be the reason why our species will unite once again in peace. It is a possibility though.

"Now...go take (Y/N) to the training grounds. She needs to be ready."

"Ready for what?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Ready to take the throne, cousin."

—————

My face slid against the mud filled ground as a collected cheer from all the trainees once again saw me get pummelled by once of the toughest men they had.

Groaning lightly, I pushed myself up for what must of been the hundredth time and looked down at my bare torso. It was starting to get cut up pretty bad and I was surprised my sports bra had lasted this long.

"When are you going to stop!? Looks like little queenie wants more." The burly man stated, chucking as he grabbed me by the hair causing me to yelp.

I could feel Lauren's emotions of fury yet extreme worry for me coarse through my body. I knew that she was watching and because of that, I was ashamed.

"Get a grip (Y/N)!" The man shouted. A low growl emitted from my chest, vibrations filling the atmosphere.

"You don't want them to get a hold of your mate. They will tear her apart, rape her and that will all be in front of your dead body." With that said, all I saw was red.

My canines began to form and my hands grabbed the back of his head and kneed him square on the forehead, hearing a satisfying crack. All my wolf wanted was to see his man's blood on this ground.

He began charging towards me causing me to dodge quickly, grabbing him by the scruff of his neck and pulled him sharply to the floor.

It wasn't long before I was straddling his waist and throwing blows to his face while I was snarling down at him. Everything around me has disappeared by this point and all that was left was me beating this man up.

Warm arms wrapped themselves around my chest and I was overwhelmed by a vanilla scent causing me to slowly calm down. I was turned around to be face to face with Lauren, a worried gaze on her face as she looked at me for head to toe.

My vision began to return to normal and I noticed how my hands were coated with the man's blood who was being taken off the field.

What have I done?
