Really, couldn't they just give us a break. Over the past few hours we had to deal with a lot, but apparently they can't just give us a break. This time it was my phone that buzzed. I really hoped it was Zayn, but it wasn't. They just didn't want to let us have a break, don't they know that we're going on stage in a few hours,
"Oh by the way, you can call me Inconnu."
Even with my meager knowledge of French I knew that inconnu meant unknown or stranger. This person, or should I say inconnu, was clever. They're never planning on telling us who they are. But what I wan't to know more than that is why? Why us? What did we ever do? I show the others the text and there are mixed reactions, Jesy seemed disgusted, Leigh seemed upset and Jade just sort of stared blankly.
I really didn't blame her. She was probably still recovering from bloodloss. I looked at the time on my phone, 3pm. We had an hour until meet and greets. I really didn't want to go anywhere, well more take Jade anywhere, but we couldn't admit that something was wrong. I feel a hand on my shoulder and all of a sudden I realised I didn't have to be strong. I didn't have to be the one that everyone turns to. So I burst straight out into tears.
I turned around and fell into Jesy's arms. She was always so caring. She genuinely cared how I was feeling. My tears flowed freely and didn't stop. They soon turned into a fountain and I began getting worried that I would drown Jesy. Once my eyes dried up, and I was just left to sniffling, Jesy pulled away and looked at me. She grabbed the sides of my face and gently wiped my tears away. She really was like a big sister to me. Her wide, hazel eyes were staring straight into mine with deep concern. I sniffed and looked away. I was embarrassed that I let myself become so weak in front of them. I didn't want to be known as the weak one.
My, usually blue, now red eyes were on the verge of spilling again, but I didn't want them to. I willed them not to. I rubbed my eyes for them to stop, but they didn't.
"Pez, you're allowed to cry, it's ok." Jesy comforted. I know it's ok but I didn't want to. It was just who I was.
Instead of crying I called Leigh and Jade over and just hugged all of them at once. I really didn't know how long I could cope with this. We just stayed there for a little bit, soaking in each other's company, it was nice. For once we just got to be friends, without work on top of that. Once we broke apart, I went to the mirror and checked myself. As soon as I saw my reflection I cracked up. I guess everyone probably would have thougt I was crazy, but I really did need a bit of a comic relief.
I walked into the bathroom and splashed my face with ice cold water. I forgot that the taps here in winter are freezing when they are on cold. I shivered as the water touched my skin, not just because of the cold, but because it felt like someone was watching me. Once my eyes and nose didn't look so red and puffy I went back to re-do my makeup. Suddenly it came to me that we had meet and greets in 20 minutes and Jade's arm... Well she couldn't show that to anyone...
I went into Panick Perrie mode, yelling out random things until Jesy finally stopped me. She had to literally shake me to make me stop. Once I calmed down I checked my arm, my cut was still covered. Jesy showed me her arm and it was pretty much covered. I ran to Jade's clothes and pulled out a cute plaid shirt-jacket that would go with her outfit and cover her arm. I handed it to her and she put it on carefully. I walked over to Leigh, who was still in the corner. Her eyes were bloodshot and most of her makeup had run. I grabbed a tissue and dabbed at her eyes and then wiped all of her makeup off with a makeup wipe. I grabbed all of her makeup and applied it in a not-so-random random way. Once I finished she looked up at me and smiled gratefully. I simply turned my attention back to her arm, I checked that it wasn't inflames or infected and then applied another layer of makeup to cover it. I helped her out of her half curled up half crouched position and hugged her. She was still shaken up, and I could tell, but she tried to ignore it.
"Chins up, smiles on." Jade said. I'm pretty sure it's a quote from the Hunger Games, but I never finished watching the movie, but it is still true to what we need to do. We just need to put our brave faces on so that no one knows that something is wrong.
We heard a knock, again (humph), and heard a shout telling us to get out to got to the meet and greet. I grabbed Jade's hand nervously and walked outside. We all waited outside the room that was set up for the meet and greet. We all hugged and then went in. We were hugging a lot. I guess we just didn't want to lose each other.
