"Come on, JJ. Just talk to me I've apologized-" I cut Sam off saying, "Roy, you said you did a little hunting." Sam scoffs as Roy says proudly, "Yeah, more than a little." I smile as Dean sarcastically asks, "What kind of furry critters do you hunt?" Roy glances back at me and says, "Mostly buck. Sometimes bear." I scoff at his attempt to impress me and ask, "Yogi or Bambi ever hunt you?" He grabs Dean harshly and everyone freezes, "What you doing, Roy?"
I giggle as I see it, Roy glances back at me before taking a stick and putting it in a bear trap, "You should watch where you're stepping... Ranger." Roy walks ahead and Dean chuckles, "It's a bear trap." He tells us and I snort, "You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffel bag. Her I get with the army and all, but you and him. You're not Rangers, so who the h*ll are you?" Hailey asks pulling back Dean's shoulder. Dean nods at Sam and I and we go on ahead, "Please JJ, I've said I'm sorry so many time I could puke." Sam pleads.
He continues to say he's sorry until Dean comes back, "This is it--Blackbottle Ridge." Roy tells us and I ask, "What coordinates are we at?" He pulls something out of his bag and says, "Thirty-five minus one-eleven." Dean walks up to us, "You hear that?" I ask and they both say, "Yeah." Sam continues, "Not even crickets." "I'm gonna go take a look around." Roy says and we turn to face him, "You shouldn't go off by yourself." I tell him and he chuckles.
"That's sweet. Don't worry about me." He says making me want to puke and he walks past us, "All right, everybody stays together. Let's go." Dean says and starts walking.
20 minutes later
"Hailey! Over here!" Roy shouts, making us all run over, "Oh, my God." Hailey says as we look at the torn up campsite, "Looks like a grizzly." Roy says, coming to stand in front of me, "Tommy? Tommy!" Hailey yells and Sam comes up shushing her, "Why?" She asks him and I reply, "There could be something out there." "Sam! JJ!" Dean calls and we walk over to him.
Kneeling next to him he says, "The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks just vanish. It's weird. I tell you what. It's no skinwalker or black dog." We all get up and head back to the campsite, where Hailey found, what I guess to be, her brother's phone. I sigh, poor girl. "Help! Please! Somebody help me!" We all run toward the voice.
We're all looking for it when I realize, "It seemed like it was coming from around here, didn't it?" Hailey asks and I yell, "Everybody back to camp!" We run back and it's just what I feared, our provisions are gone. "Our packs!" Hailey exclaims, Roy looks down and says, "So much for my GPS and my satellite phone." Hailey looks around, "What the h*ll's going on?" "It's smart. It wants to make it so we can't call for help." I tell her, Roy looks up, "You mean someone--some nut job out there just stole all our gear." He says.
"I need to speak with you two... in private." Dean and I nod and we all walk into the woods, "Okay, let me see dad's journal." Sam says and Dean takes it out of his pocket, handing it to him, "All right. Check that out." Sam says pointing to a page that says Wendigo. "Oh, come on. Wendigos are in Minnesota woods or Northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west." Dean says to him as I read the page, "Think about it, Dean--the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice." Sam says and Dean looks away, "Great. Well, then this is useless." We walk back to camp and Sam says, "We need to get these people to safety."
"All right, listen up. It's time to go. Things have gotten more complicated?" I say and Hailey snaps, "What?" "Whatever's out there, darlin', I think I can handle it." Roy says and I step closer to him, "Call me something like that again and it will be the last thing you ever say." I hiss. "It's not her I'm worried about. If you shoot this thing, you're just gonna make it mad. We have to leave now." Sam says.
"One, you're talking nonsense. Two, you're in no position to give anybody orders." Roy snaps and Dean tells him, "Relax." "We never should have let you come out here in the first place. I'm trying to protect you." Sam snaps back, "You protect me? I was hunting these woods when your mommy was still kissing you good night." Roy says and I flinch, getting in the middle of them, "Yeah? It's a d*mn-near-perfect hunter. It's smarter than you. And it's gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry a*s out of here." Sam says and Roy laughs in his face, "You know you're crazy, right?" Roy asks and Sam snaps, "Yeah? You ever hunt--"
In a horrible split second decision, in a desperate attempt at shutting him up, I smash my lips onto Sam's. I hear a bunch of gasps as I let go and walk to Dean, who is staring at me shocked.
"You guys need to chill out, okay?" I snap turning to face an angry Roy and a shocked Sam, "Stop it. Everybody just stop. Look, Tommy might still be alive and I'm not leaving here without him." Hailey says and Dean looks at us before saying, "It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night. We'll never beat it--not in the dark. We need to settle in and protect ourselves." He walks past Hailey and she asks, "How?"
