The Golden Snipers
Chapter 3
Everything in this forest is much brighter than the one before. More green and fresh, the wind blows past as a gentle breeze like an air conditioner.
Huge stumps of rocks were interrupting the way ahead though for the group. Nick and Faith were nearby talking to each other trying to become friends because of what happened from before.
"So, chickens are like, your family?" Nick questions.
"Yep! I love chickens SO MUCH!" Faith answers.
"I see." Nick gets confused. "Speaking of chickens, there's one on the other side of this rubble." Jade calls out.
"Chiiickeeeen!!!" Faith yells as she runs towards the pebble to see the chicken.
"But isn't Faith a fox?" Nick mumbles to himself.
BEEP BEEP! MASTER IS CALLING! MASTER IS CALLING!
A phone in Nicks pocket rings. He takes the phone out and answers the call.
"Yes master?" Nick answers.
"Neck! Did you get the derpy pancakes just like how I ordered you to!?" The voice from the call is deep, like an evil beast.
"With all due respect sir but," Nick responds, "My name isn't Neck! It's Nick!"
"Oh right, guess I got your name mixed up again." The voice admits, "But anyway did you get the Derpy Pancakes or not?"
"No I got them," Nick answers, "but they are just so gorgeous that I'm using them as weapons."
"You what!?" The voice yells shockingly, "Your not killing my creations are you?"
Nick thinks back to the time he killed the slimes with Jade. Those slimes were actually his masters creation.
"No." Nick innocently smiles. "Anyway I got some guest coming your way so be exited!"
"Okay." The voice lowers.
Nick then hangs up. He walks over to the group, which is still trying to figure out how to past this rubble.
"So Sal," Jade asks, "you said that you saw some smoke earlier, right?"
"Yeah." Sal answers. "It was coming from North."
Jade then locates North and sees another trail that they almost went past by.
"Perhaps over there?" He asks.
"Probably," Sal says, "But isn't this the way we need to go?"
"Yes," Jade answers Sal, "but if we are going to make it across, then I think we will have to get some help."
A sign is then found as Jade walks up to the trail, examining the area.
He then reads the sign as the group notices it.
"So, what's it say?" Sal asks as Jade reads the marked words on the sign.
"Abby and Silvers property." Jade reads out. "Oh, there's some small writing here."
Jade reads the words from underneath, they were much smaller than the other ones. "If you touch my Melon Farm, then I'll slap you with my pufferfish."
The warning message is signed by "Silver".
Jade then calls out to his lover "Faith?".
"Yes my love?" Faith says as she walks over to Jade.
"Can you babysit Nick for me as Sal and I check out the property?"
"Hey!" Nick grunts.
"Sure thing!" Faith happily accepts.
"Let's go Sal." Jade leads the way.
"Right behind you!" Sal follows.
———————————
The grass became brighter and fresher the more when Jade and Sal took a step closer on the pebble-like trail to Abby and Silvers property.
The house was then seen on the empty space of field. It had two roofs, red and green. Some of the windows were smashed but the others were clean and had beautifull borders.
"This must be it." Jade says. He walks up to the door and knocks.
The door is polished from a rich, dark wooden piece.
Jade and Sal wait patiently for a response, but nothing happens.
"Are they even home?" Sal asks.
"Probably not." Jade presumes as he walks over to the left side of the house. He checks the inside from one of the broken windows, but it was just a shed and no one could be seen.
"Guess I'm looking at the wrong spot." Jade mumbles to himself.
He then looks over to Sal whom has walked the oposited direction.
Jade comes over to Sal as he notices a farm. Sal is standing in front of it, examining the crops.
"So this must be their melon farm, eh?" Sal says.
"Must be." Jade agrees.
All of the melons were ripe and ready to be picked from. Not a scratch or Mold was found on any of them.
"Hey," Jade wisphers to Sal, "how about we take one."
"What!?" Sal shockingly questions Jade.
"Oh c'mon," Jade tries to persuade, "its not that bad of a situation, besides, we are running low on food anyways."
Sal then closes his eyes and thinks hard about it. "Yeah," He follows, "I guess one wouldn't hurt."
Sal then slowly walks up to one of the Melons, specifically one in the middle of the whole field of the farm.
He tries to grab it out. "Man! This thing is hard!" He struggles.
Jade begins to giggle as his dirty minded influences take place.
"What? What's so funny?" Sal complains as he continues to try.
"Oh, n-nothing!" Jade matures.
Then, a soft, creepy voice enters the atmosphere.
"Get your mind out of the gutter."
The area darkens, as if thick clouds were covering up the sun.
Sal has managed to take the melon out from the ground, but he then ditches it and starts to panick. "W-Who said that?"
"Show yourself." Jade grunts, a little worried.
The area darkens even more until it is pitch black.
"I-I didn't do it! Jade made me! He made me!" Sal cries out.
"You ignorant brat! I didn't make him! I didn't make him!" Jade yells.
The gerund then shakes. The voice yells out "Shut it!"
Then, the area lightens back to normal. However a girl is found standing right next to Sal. Her hair streaks are solid red, same for her eyes. She is wearing a blue set of armour and black stockings.
"Why..?" She softly and slowly says. "Weren't the instructions on the sign eligible?" Her voice gives out an eerie feel to Sal and Jade.
