Raven's emotions were running wild. She couldn't believe this, out of all the people she could be in love with, it has to be Beastboy. Her teammate, her best friend.
It's not a bad thing but at the same time it is. Beastboy didn't go for girls like her. He liked blondes, Raven's hair was almost as dark as night. He liked yall girls, Raven was a shortcake, only standing at 5'3. He liked happy, outgoing, extroverted girls. Sure, Raven had changed, but she was sarcastic, sadistic, hell she even said she didn't want to fall in love.
How ironic.
Raven was pacing her room, trying to figure out how she let this happen. This is what happens when you put your guard down. Raven put down her defenses and look where that got her. She cursed herself as she put her hand to her head. Fuck, Shit, Damn. Every freaking curse word in the dictionary.
Raven's head snapped up as pounded emitted from her door. She walked over and took a deep breathe, calming her raging nerves. She slid open her door to see Beastboy. "Hey, Rae."
Raven gave the most convincing smile she could muster. "Hey, Beastboy." His every move affected her.
Beastboy frowned at her. "Are you okay? Why are your arms shaking like that? And why do you look pale instead of grey?" He asked, his eyes scanning her face and the way she kept shifting her feet.
"I'm fine. Why?" She answeres smoothly. Normally Raven was a good liar but she was so out of it that she couldn't think straight.
Beastboy's green eyes pierced through Raven's wide purple ones. "I ask because you called be Beastboy."
Raven mentally face palmed. Dammit, why was he so observant nowadays?
Beastboy's animal ears picked up on a sound. It was faint but he could hear it. It was a soft thumping. His eyes zeroed in on Raven's clothed chest. "Why is your heart beating so fast?" He leaned a little closer to her. Raven tried to back up but Beastboy closed her room door, keeping her in that place.
Raven avoided any type of contact with Beastboy. "Why are you asking so many questions?"
Beastboy narrowed his emerald eyes at her. He put her arm right by her head, leaning down further. "Why are you dodging my questions?"
Raven swallowed. This position was making her heart race even faster. She tried to move around him but he put up his other arm, trapping Raven completely. She looked up at his face for the first time to find him glaring at her.
"Stop trying to leave. Now tell me, what's wrong?" Beastboy wasn't going to let this go. She was hiding something, he was sure of it.
Raven countered with her own glare. "Nothing that concerns you." Lies.
"Anything that affects your behavior concerns me."
Raven had enough of this bullshit. She pushes against his chest but he didn't budge. He was like a brick wall, unmovable. Raven activates her powers and gently pushes him back. Beastboy sighed and ran a hand through his messy green hair.
"Fine. Don't tell me, but I will find out." The time in his voice made Raven scared. It wasn't a statement.
It was a promise.
Raven slumped against her door as he shuffled away. He couldn't find out, she'd make sure of it. He was the most important person in her life, no doubt. She wasn't going to ruin what they had with her unrequited love. Raven wasn't good at many things but if there was an she was good at, it was hiding emotions. She had did it everyday of her life up until a year ago, she could do it now.
To save her friendship.

The alarm blared through the tower. All of the Titans ran to the common room. On the screen was young girl, maybe 16. She was standing on top of the tallest building in Jump City, threatening to jump. She had a baseball bat, saying she'd swing at anyone who tried to touch her.
