Amelia listened attentively to her own firm breathing. The only sound she heard was her peacefully pounding heartbeat. She had been long awake before the sun had even appeared in the morning sky. Instead of crawling up in a little ball and staring at her ceiling for the rest of the morning, Amelia had decided to do something active. She had put on a flashy training outfit and had taken a yoga mat out of a storage closet in the hallway.

Amelia was sitting in an awkward position while maintaining her breathing. Her shoes were slightly touching the damp grass as she was sitting in her front lawn. By practicing yoga she tried to shift her attention to something else rather than a certain blond haired boy. Amelia wanted to banish all negative thoughts from her body. She opened her eyes and stared at a certain point while shifting position.

"What are you doing?" The sudden husky voice coming from behind startled Amelia. She lost her balance and fell on her knees. She glanced over her shoulder and saw a tall figure towering above her. "Yoga." Amelia simply replied as she quickly got up her feet.

Billy trailed his eyes up and down her body. "You look good." Amelia narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow. She felt confused by his compliment. Last night he had left her behind while the anger was clearly visible in his eyes and today he seemed to be in a completely different mood. "Thanks, I guess." She mumbled.

Billy didn't seem distraught by her answer and kept smirking. "Get ready, we're going to town."

Amelia nearly dropped the rolled up yoga mat under her arm. "What?" She asked. "Yeah, the deadline for the assignment is coming up. We better start working on it." Amelia didn't believe her ears.

"Aren't you supposed to be angry?" She asked while walking towards her front door. Billy swiftly stepped in front of her, blocking her way. "We're going to town. Get ready." He repeated in a less friendly tone. Amelia rolled her eyes and continued her way to the front door. She hesitated before touching the door knob. "Give me 5 minutes." She muttered under her breath.

As soon as the door closed behind her, Amelia lost her calmness and ran up the stairs. She slammed the door of her bedroom open en quickly went through her wardrobe, trying to find some appropriate clothes. She settled for a blue shirt with white-and-black striped pants that reached her ankles. Amelia quickly put on some white sneakers as she stumbled around her room unpatiently. Afterwards she went in the bathroom to brush her hair and to apply some light makeup.

Amelia grabbed her backpack and rushed down the stairs. She came to a stop right in front of the door and wiped her sweaty hands on her pants. She took a few deep breaths before calmly opening the front door.

Billy parked his car in front of a diner called Valley Diary. Amelia thought back at how she and Steve went here to get some breakfast. With Steve she had felt no pressure, no insecurity while Billy made her feel slightly nervous.

They walked inside and sat down in an empty booth. "Take whatever you want." Billy said. Amelia let her eyes glide over the plastic menu and decided on a strawberry milkshake. When a waitress came to take their order Billy raised his eyebrow as Amelia didn't order any food. "Aren't you hungry?" He asked. Even though Amelia had been awake for a while, it was only around 9 a.m. She shook her head. Billy, on the other hand, ordered some waffles.

Amelia took out her notebook and a few books out of her backpack. She had done her research beforehand and had lended out some books from the local library. After they had eaten, they started working on the assignment. Billy looked uninterested the entire time but it seemed like he was actually making some effort.

After a while Billy tilted his head backwards and rubbed his hands on his face. "We can stop. We've done enough." Amelia offered. Billy gratefully nodded. "Can we do something fun now?" He asked in an almost childish voice. Amelia chuckled while throwing her books back in her backpack.

"I like hearing you laugh."

This was the second time today that Billy had startled Amelia. She froze and looked at him with wide eyes while her pulse quickened. Billy smirked as he could clearly see the effect his words had on her. He winked before walking over to the waitress to pay the check.

Amelia pulled herself together and followed Billy outside. "What do you wanna do?" She asked. Billy seductively licked his lips with his tongue which almost made Amelia melt. "Whatever you want, baby." He cooed. If she had the courage she would have kissed him right there, but she didn't. "You choose." She replied instead.

"We could go-" Billy was interrupted by an angry voice. "Amelia? What are you doing?" Amelia turned her head and saw Steve walking towards them while he was holding two paper bags in his hands. "We were just working on our assignment." She said quickly. "Sure." Steve's eyes shifted from Amelia to Billy and back to her.

"So, what are you doing here?" She asked, trying to change the subject. "Uh, just getting some groceries." Billy sniffed. "King Steve doing a woman's work. What a waste." Amelia raised her eyebrows at his sexist comment but chose not to respond. "Dude. What's your problem?" Steve asked furiously. Amelia quickly took a step forward so she stood between them. "Can I talk to you in private?" She asked Steve.

"What's wrong?" She asked when they stood a few feet away from Billy. "What are you doing with Hargrove?" He asked as he looked down at her. "Nothing. We're just working for school." Steve obviously didn't believe her. "Getting breakfast in the morning doesn't sound like working for school." Amelia crossed her arms over her chest and squinted her eyes. "Are you jealous, Harrington?" She asked. Steve rolled his eyes. "Hell no. Just stay away from him."

"That sounds like a thing a jealous guy would say." She smoothly replied. Steve clenched his jaw together but didn't respond. "I gotta go. We'll talk later." Without waiting for a response, she spun around and walked towards Billy.

"What did Harrington say?" Billy asked as he lit up a cigarette. "Nothing important. Forget about it." Billy didn't seem very pleased with the whole situation but said nothing when he got in his car. "Didn't seem unimportant." His tone of voice indicated he was angry. "I'll drive you home."

Billy's mood had drastically changed since the encounter with Steve. Amelia didn't know how to react at his fickle behavior so she just stared out of the window. The car ride was extremely uncomfortable since he refused to talk to her.

The silence was overwhelming. "Why are you so angry?" She asked curiously after he had parked his car outside her house. "I'm not." He hissed. Amelia rolled her eyes and mumbled the following words. "Yeah, right." He ignored her while rubbing his fingers through his messy hair.

"I gotta go." Which rudely translated to 'get the hell out of my car'. Amelia slammed the door of his car shut and didn't look back as she entered her house.

A/N: Sorry for the shitty chapter. I've been reading a lot of other Billy Hargrove fanfiction which made me feel very insecure about this story. I didn't had the courage to continue. Next one will be better.
