I finished my third slice of pizza and held my stomach in satisfaction of the feeling of being full.

Nick had convinced me into eating some of the wings and cinnamon rolls he bought, so I was pretty stuffed.

"Thank you," I said to him.

He nodded and said, "No problem."

"I had a nice....night," I said, being that my evening was pretty rocky.

Nick chuckled and replied, "Me too," before finishing his last slice. "If you were well behaved, we would've been having nights like this every night."

"I actually thought you'd torture me every night until my brother found your ring," I noted.

"You're not my prisoner," Nick noted. "I mean, you're locked in shackles, but you're not my prisoner. I just can't trust you."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I joked, causing a smile to form on his face.

"Two weeks from now, I'll be attending a ballroom party. If you're on your best behavior, you can tag along," Nick said.

"Well, it's better than being locked up in this house," I shrugged.

"What's wrong with the house?" Nick asked, pretending to be hurt.

"Nothing," I smiled. "It's very nice, but I'm often alone, thinking about ways to escape."

"Well, good thing I have a lot of traps," Nick chuckled, causing me to chuckle as well.

"Hey, um..Nick," I said once silence filled the room.

"Yes, love?" Nick answered.

"I'm sorry, " I apologized.

My conscience was eating me up, and the good in my heart wanted to apologize.

"For?" Nick frowned.

"I misjudged you before getting to know you. I also did the same to your friends," I answered. "I'm sorry."

"You didn't misjudge me," he defended, "but you misjudged my friends, and so I accept your apology for that."

"Truly, you can't be as villainous as I conceived," I argued.

"And what gives you that idea?" Nick asked.

"You've fed me, clothed me, and didn't touch me inappropriately," I answered. You've also been taking care of Kendall. What cruel monster would do that?"

"A foolish one," he joked. "You were right about one thing though."

"Really? What?" I asked.

"I'm not what you thought of me," he answered. "I'm worse."

With that said, he got off the couch we sat on and made his way up the stairs.

Why did he feel inclined to be bad? What was wrong with being good, anyways?

Kendall entered the room and began cleaning up, so I decided to help.

"How was your day with Carter?" Kendall asked.

"Rocky, but it became a good night," I answered.

"He doesn't usually take his prisoners out on a date," she playfully said while giving me a half smile.

"I'm not his prisoner, and that wasn't a date," I defended.

Kendall hummed in response.

"I'm being honest," I smiled.

"I didn't say you weren't," Kendall chuckled.

"Well, I was reinforcing my response," I replied. "Besides, what monster takes someone on a date?"
