Nick's POV

I was about ten minutes away from the destination. I only hoped to arrive there before the others. If they boarded the jet, it would be over for them.

Everyone I cared about most would be dead.

I tried to clear my mind. I turned on some music and drove even faster. I was about to make a turn when a truck crashed into the side of my car, sending me off the road, and instead into a tree. Glass shattered from my window, and I closed my eyes and shielded my face with my arms.

The driver stopped and began walking to me with panic evident on her face.

"Sir, are you alright?" the lady asked.

I claimed out of the car through the passenger's seat.

"Are you hurt? Should I call the ambulance?" the lady questioned.

"I'm fine," I called out as I walked to her.

"Y-your wrist- it's bleeding," she pointed out.

I looked down at my bloody wrist. I knew I could bleed to death, but I had to make sure the others were okay.

"I'm fine," I repeated. "Can you give me a lift?"

"Well, it's the least I can do," she nodded.

She got into the driver's seat, and I got into the passenger's.

"Um..uh where to?" she nervously asked as she began driving to where she hit my car.

I pointed my finger to the road I wanted her to turn on.

"I'm so sorry for crashing into your car," she apologized.

I didn't even respond. I had too much on my mind. What if Sage and the others already boarded the jet?

"My father always told me-" the lady got out before I cut her off.

"Please shut up!" I sighed.

"Sorry," she apologized before being quiet.

We got to the open area, but the jet was already off the ground.

"No!" I growled before pressing the truck's horn.

I squeezed onto the horn, and through the window, I saw Sage's eyes open widely. She got up and rushed to the front where the driver was.

I watched eagerly as the jet began to rock back and forth, but continued to go even higher until it was flying over the forest.

C'mon guys! I could feel my body going weak, and it annoyed me that I couldn't do much but watch the jet continue to jerk. A signature shot fired, and I let out a deep breath. I knew it was Junior's gun that fired the shot. The lady screamed, and I looked at her with an annoyed face.

"Oh my gosh!" the lady squeled while pointing to the direction of the falling jet.

I rushed out of the car and ran towards where I expected the jet had crashed. As I continued to run, I felt more energy leaving my body. I looked at my wrist and forced my body to run faster.

When I got closer to the area where the jet crashed, the jet exploded, and I was flung backwards by the thick gas. My chest tightened by the strong fumes entering my nostrils, and the hard hit I took.

I didn't see any of them make it out. I wanted to scream and cry, but I didn't have the energy to do either one. They were gone, and in a few seconds, I would be too.

The last thing I saw was fire coming from the jet. Then my eyes closed, sending me into a period of darkness- a darkness I expected would lead to hell.

The end.

Once again, thank you all for reading this. Stay tuned for book two, Bitter Sweet. I hope to publish the first chapter sometime between mid July- early August (this year, 2018).
