I stared at the moon from my window sill, my back turned to Nick.
"So you really not gonna talk to me?" Nick asked. "It's been two days now."
"I have nothing to say to you," I responded.
"But I did nothing wrong," Nick said. "I don't even know where all of this anger is coming from."
"Where were you before the dance, Nick?" I asked.
"Getting my suit tailored," he lied.
"I saw blood on your shirt collar, Nick. Then all of a sudden, there's a shootout," I noted. "Why are you lying to me."
"Fine," he sighed. "I attacked the people that went after my men. I thought I'd be back earlier, but I wasn't, aight?"
"Why did you lie?" I asked.
"Because I knew you wouldn't approve of what I did," he answered.
"Okay," I said.
"But there's still something bothering you," he said, and through his reflection on the window, I saw him walking closer to me. He wrapped his hands around my waist and asked, "Is it about Victoria?"
"Yes," I answered, my eyes still focused on the moon.
"What did she say to you?" Nick asked.
"She called me a child and said that you were only using me for...pleasure. She said you did that to her and would do the same to me," I answered.
"She's lying," Nick said.
"Let me guess, I'm different?" I sarcastically replied.
"Well, you are," he agreed. "Victoria and I weren't dating. She knew that it was only sex that kept us connected."
"And was that you're agreement or hers?" I asked.
"Both," he answered. "But she introduced the agreement in the first place. She's only upset that I've been active with her for months, but never took her as my date anywhere."
"I guess," I sighed.
He kissed my forehead and rubbed my shoulders.
"Don't get worked up about her," he soothed. "I only want you."
He kissed my neck and cheek before saying, "And you're not a child."
"I recently turned 19, Nick. I just ledt high school," I noted.
"You're only two years younger than me," he pointed out.
"I'm still 19 though," I argued.
"Okay, and?" Nick asked. "You have a mature mindset and way more respect for yourself than a lot of women. Sex doesn't make you an adult."
Nick was right. I was letting Anna get into my head.
"You're right," I gave in. "Thanks for the talk."
"Anytime," he smiled. "Junior's gonna be back tomorrow night."
"Okay," I nodded. "Is it okay if I share your bed with you tonight?"
"Yeah, of course," he smiled.
We made our way to his room and got into bed. I snuggled into his chest and enjoyed my peaceful rest.

"What time is it?" I frowned.
