I couldn't sleep that night, my head hurt. The next day I felt like maybe I should skip class but I knew I couldn't do that. I dragged myself to class, yesterday night's dream still plaguing me. Why did it bother me so much?
I sat down where I sat last time and stared down at my book. My eyes kept skimming over the title, again and again, but nothing was entering my mind.
"Hey." Nicholas's enthusiastic voice made me look up. he smiles and sat down beside me leaning on my desk. he stared at me for a moment and frown and angled his head. "Everything Okay?"
Does this happen to anyone else, you hold back your tears with strength and carry yourself forward but all it takes is someone to ask you with concern if you are okay and all the tears come gushing out.
I nodded and squeezed my eyes shut to not let the tears out. Nicholas can't know. the professor walked in but Nicholas did stop looking at me.
"Are you okay? Did I- Did I do something" He asked softly. I shook my head and look back down at my book. Hot tears dripped down onto the book. Nicholas didn't notice. he was looking at the professor.
As soon as the class ended I got up and quickly walked out of class. my long strides turned in me sprinting, someone grabbed my hand and stopped me.
"Stop, what the hell is wrong?" Nicholas pulled me to him and looked at me with a frown, his eyes held sadness and concern.
"I don't wanna talk about it," I mumbled.
"Fine but I won't let you just be sad. Lets to the mall, they opened a new art store there." My head snapped up and I frowned at him.
"How do you know I liked art?" I asked while narrowing my eyes at him suspiciously.
"I stalked your socials." He replied like it was nothing and pulled out his phone and typed something fast.
"So let's go" he held my wrist and continued walking.
"I have class," I said urgently and glanced at my watch.
"I will get you the notes from someone in the class, the professor will excuse your absence. He has to for me." He shot me a grin and brought me to the parking area. His friends were there too.
"Yeah, they are coming along. We had plans to go from before. You should call Keisha"
I shook my head "Keisha won't miss class for a mall trip". He smiled at Terence as Terence threw the keys to something, a car I guess?
"That's our ride" He pointed at a Red Tesla S and walked to it. I followed almost running to the car. and got it. he got in after me while laughing.
"What's the hurry, Muffin?"
He called me a muffin, again.
"I just really like cars." His smiled widened as the engine started.
Terence and Davis made it to the mall in Terence's car before us, they split off to go do their own stuff. Smith came right after us on his bike and followed us along.
"Dude, leave and do your own stuff like Terence and Davis." Nicholas mumble, he sounded a little annoyed.
"And do what? I had a fucking call, the one time my dad asks me to attend a meeting with him and you guys whisk me off to a fucking cheap garbage building" Smith was typing furiously on his phone as he talked.
"Yeah right, your dad is basically making you take over his job. he made you attend eight meeting last week. And this place has Gucci so it ain't cheap." Nicholas pointed at a large Gucci store.
