This day was an awful one. First I woke up late to go to college. Then my dad called me during work to tell me for the hundredth time that dancing is not a real job and that I should study harder in college. I simply told him that I was old enough to do whatever I wanted to. Also my boyfriend didn't text me the whole day. And that frustrated me because he always does.
I was in college studying medicine, it was my third year so we had to go to the hospital every morning. And sometimes on the evenings we had regular lessons. I was studying to become a plastic surgeon, I worked my ass off even though I kind of liked it, I was mainly doing it to please my dad.
However, I was in the back of the Givenchy store I worked in, it was a part-time job. I got it thanks to my mom. She lived in France because she was a Givenchy designer. I needed to pay my college tuition, my apartment, my dance classes and everything else somehow so I asked her help. And she found this job for me in Seoul.
Because even though she did have money I wanted to work for my own money.
My parents had been divorced, since I was 5. So I didn't really care about their separation. My name is korean but my mom is Nigerian and my dad Korean. Apparently they had lot of issues due to the big cultural difference but they were deeply in love. I lived with my mom in Busan for 10 years but then when I turned 15 we came to Seoul because she found a job for Givenchy. Seven years later she was in France designing for them. I was really proud of her, but her being in France meant I couldn't see her as often as before.
My dream was to be a dancer, I loved dancing so much. I had been dancing since I was 14, it had been 8 years already.
I met my boyfriend in college when I was 20, he's in his 6th year. It had been 2 years that we were together. He was the most amazing boyfriend you could've ever asked. Sweet as hell. Even though we did fight a lot back then I didn't mind I was really attached to him.
He was tall, had dyied his hair blond and had full lips. But he didn't like me being a dancer. That was a big issue between us to be honest. It was my passion and who doesn't want their loved ones to appreciate what you work hard for?
Either ways, I thought it would've been a wonderful love story but guess what? I was wrong.
There wouldn't be a story if nothing happened, right?
