Chapter 22: Provisional Hero License Exam

Y/n's POV: 

   The warm morning air hit my skin as a cool breeze passed. I looked up towards the wandering clouds, taking in a deep breath trying to calm my uprising anxiety. Then looking back down at the towering building, the first exam arena, The national stadium in Takoba.

   While trying to calm myself, heavy footsteps approached our class. Looking over, I could see a very eccentric student crashing his head into the ground, bowing. When looking into his uniform, a wave of familiarity hit me. He was from the popular Shiketsu Academy! From behind him came a formation of his fellow students, all of them looked stiff. 

   "I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO SAY PLUS ULTRA! I LOVE YUUEI ACADEMY! ITS SUCH A PLEASURE BEING ABLE TO COMPETE AGAINST YUUEI!" The eccentric cheered, blood coming out of his forehead. 

   "Yoarashi Inasa." Aizawa started, "He is no pushover, last year when you all were applying, he was one of the recommendations, along with Todoroki, Momo, and Y/n. However, despite the recommendation of his strength and intelligence, he declined to enter." 

   All of us went silent, was he as strong as Shouto and I? Just who is he?

TIMESKIP

   After meeting other classes, and introducing ourselves to other school teachers, we all squeezed into the building, waiting for our first lecture for the exam. I was next to Shouto, our silence came from our anxiousness and readiness to start. Before everyone quieted down I decided to whisper something to the male.

   "Oi." I whispered, he grunted, meaning he was listening. 

   "Lets leave this place with our license okay? Promise me that we can become heroes together just like how we've dreamed for ever since we started to talk." I said with a serious look on my face, he looked back with the same amount of seriousness. Then he relaxed and smirked.

   "Of course, how else will I be able to surpass my father?" He smirked which caused me to relax just a bit more. Right when I was going to speak again, I was cut off by the speakers turning on.

    "Okay lets get this over with." The speaker grogged, he started to say some random stuff, but I started to listen when he got to the important stuff. 

   "There are currently 1540 present in this room, and all of you will be fighting for victory all at once. The second exam will be a rescue operation and villain cleanup. Firstly though, we will put you all against each other to lower the numbers to only the 100 remaining! Those 100 will do the next rescue operation." He explained, I was a bit shocked since there are so many of us and such a small passing rate. 

   "Now then the rules for the first exam, you will all receive 3 targets to place in random places on your body, and they have to be on a visible spot. You will also receive 6 balls that only go into those targets. Others will be aiming for those three spots, once all of those targets have a ball in them your out. If you hit someone's 3rd spot, you have defeated them. Victory is attained by defeating 2 other contestants." The man said, explaining all of the rules. "Now then, once that happens we will hand out all of the balls and targets." 

   "What happens?" Shouto mumbled. All of the sudden the four walls surrounding us fell, revealing a huge field containing an empty town, mountains, skyscrapers, and water. It was just like the U.S.J but huger. The field was surrounded by bleachers which teachers watched from. I heard footsteps all around me, looking around I could see others separating themselves from others, saying that they have to work alone to do this. 

   "I'm out too, the larger group I'm in, the less leeway I have to use my power" Shouto said while running away. I nodded, still staying where I was. As more of us left the group, there was left time to prep ourselves. 

   I looked around, the targets on my body were on my left shoulder, right hip, and left calf. I had my balls tucked away in my trench coat, making sure they were in an easy area to grab. Now that I know that I'm set, I take off, not joining Izuku's group that decided to stay together. I feel like my power will be quite useful here, I can use the wind pressure around me to tell if a ball is flying towards my targets.

   I saw a rock in the mountain area, I quickly went behind it making sure that nobody else was near by.

    I heard Izuku's group nearby planning their strategy, but also some enemies nearby too.

   I felt my heart clench, anxiety sprung throughout my body. I remembered back to the next I got this morning by my cheerleader Nori. 

Nori: Y/N YOU BETTER GET YOUR LICENSE SO THAT WE CAN BE HEROES TOGETHER AND THAT I CAN SHOW EVERYONE HOW STRONG MY LITTLE APPRENTICE IS. I'M OUTSIDE OF THE STADIUM CHEERING AND WILL BE ALL DAY UNTIL YOU GET YOUR EXAM! GOOD LUCK Y/N~

START

   There's 2 balls flying my direction, if I turn my shoulder to the right and my leg to the left, none of them will hit me. Once I did that, the balls hit the rock behind me and fell to the ground. I breathed out, feeling confidence flow throughout me. I will do this for Nori and for myself, but also for my friends. I will become a hero!

A/N: I'm back! Sorry this is shorter than my usual ones, its quite late where I am and I'm visiting my dads house, which I don't do that often. I will try to update on a weekend to weekend basis again, sorry I've been distracted by one piece, school, and family issues! Hopefully this arc isn't too bad, but I have great ideas for the future!
