Chapter 7

School was super long and boring, but through it all I thought about prom.

I didn't shout out answers or shoot my hand up every second like usual. My science teacher actually asked if I was feeling okay. But I was feeling great.

Love is a crazy feeling that makes you feel like your feet have been lifted off the ground and you have no worries on your shoulders.

That's how I felt everyday, like nothing could ever stop our love, if it even was love.

I mean first of all Percy never really told me we were 'together' officially. He's never called me his girlfriend, and I don't dare call him my boyfriend.

The lunch bell rang and we all flooded out of the hot sticky classroom.

Rachel met up with me beside the water fountain by the gym.

"Ready?" She said, her red hair bouncing on her shoulders as she walked up to me.

I nodded and slung my back pack over my shoulder.

We walked to the cafeteria together and talked about where we would meet later that day.

I opened the door to the cafeteria and piper was standing in line with hazel and several other girls who I had no idea who they where.

"What's up annabeth?" She said turning to face me.

"Nothing, just wondering about what I'll were to prom," I replied grabbing a tray off the stack.

We talked about dresses and shoes, something I thought I would never talk about, until we got to the front of the line.

As I was waiting, someone poked me in the back and I whipped my head around.

"Sup wise girl?" He said pulling me into a hug from the back.

"Oh my god you guys have nicknames for each other!!!???!!" Piper said, looking like she was about to explode with happiness.

I pulled away from the hug blushing.

"She calls me seaweed brain because I'm a swimmer, it's totally stupid," Percy said with a grin on his face.

Any second now I swear piper would pass out, but before she could, Jason walked up along with Leo and frank.

Percy and Jason did a weird fist bump thingy (must be a boy thing) and he waved to frank and Leo.

You could obviously tell who was his best friend.

"Jason what are you wearing?" Piper said grabbing his shoulders looking like she was about to call out an army.

Jason just kind of looked down at his clothes and had a confused look on his face.

Piper rolled her eyes, "to prom! Gosh."

"Oh, I don't know yet," he replied, looking a little shaken up.

"Then we'll find something today," piper said spinning back around and picking out food.

While everyone else started talking, me and Percy stood kind of to more of the back of the group.

He grabbed my hand and whispered something that I just made out, " meet me by the old bench beneath the apple tree in the park across from the apartments after school."

Even though I had somewhere to be with Rachel, I'm sure she would understand and we could go a little later than planed.

I nodded and he dropped my hand.

I forced back a smile that tried to creep onto my lips, instead I looked into his eyes and tried to see what he was thinking.

Aren't girls supposed to be able to do this type of thing to boys? If so, I wasn't getting anywhere with it.

After the bus dropped me off I ran to the park.

Percy's mom probably picked him up from school, otherwise we wouldn't be meeting, we would be walking together.

As I got to the tree I saw black shaggy hair around the other side off it, Percy.

"Hey seaweed brain," I said smiling.

"Hey wise girl," he reply walking up to me.

He dragged me over to the bench and we sat together.

"What did you want to talk about?" I said.

"Nothing, why does it always have to be something with you, seriously."

I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Okay fine. Well, annabeth do you consider me your boyfriend?"

"I mean we've never really been on a date, but we've held hands and kissed enough times," I said blushing at the last part.

"Yeah I guess, just wanted to make sure you thought the same thing."

I smile and kissed his cheek, he could be so cute sometimes.

"Well, since we've never had a real date, now would be a good time to start," he said grabbing my hand and leading my to the other side of the tree.

There was a blanket spread out with a picnic basket.

I put my hand over my mouth and pulled Percy into a hug.

"Do you like it?" He asked still in a hug.

"Like it? Percy it's perfect," I say pulling out of the hug and smiled at him.

We say down on the blanket and Percy pulled out the food.

"I know it's still early, so I didn't being a whole meal," he said open the tubber ware containers.

I nod and we both start to eat.

"Who made these?" I say eating a chocolate chip cookie, that for some reason was blue.

"My mom, they're blue because ever since I was a baby my mom made me blue food. I don't know why but it's just always been that way."

I laugh and kiss him, not on the cheek though, but on his lips.

I put my arms around his neck and after several seconds we both pull away.

We talk and laugh and eat for about half an hour.

"I have to go," I said standing up.

"Okay, bye wise girl," he said putting away the containers.

"Bye boyfriend," I said laughing.
