Chapter 14

(Yes the story is back to annabeths pov :D)

After the very silent ride home (courtesy of Percy's mom) I opened my door to find a note set on the kitchen counter it stated:

Gone to a meeting, be back at 11:30

-dad

Go figure, the one night I need support my dad isn't there for me.

After heating up a slice of pizza and pouring some Pepsi, I head to my room.

I sit my food down on my bedside table and pull out my back pack to look over some geography.

After attempting to work but getting frustrated for five minutes, I throw my books across the room and start crying.

School, or anything for that matter, was going to fix the fact that I wanted Percy beside me. I wanted for him to hug me, to kiss me in the rain, to remember everything again. I didn't want him cooped up in the hospital, I wanted him with me.

I take one of the pillows beside me and scream into it.

I just want the real Percy back.

Everyone did.

After crying myself to sleep I wake up the next morning to the sound of bacon grease sizzling.

I slowly get out of bed and walked to the kitchen.

"Hey annabeth, how are you?" My dad says looking up from the stove top.

"Fine, I just wish percy wasn't stuck in the stupid hospital," I say sitting on one of the dinning room chairs.

"Well at least he remembers one of the sweetest girls ever," he says kissing my forehead.

After he gives my breakfast I get dressed and walk back out of my room.

"Im going on a quick walk, I'll be back soon," I say grabbing my denim jacket off the couch.

"Sweetie I have to go to one last meeting today. But I swear, if this meeting goes well, I'll be home all the time," he says.

"Promise?"

"I promise, now have fun on your walk," he says while he washes the dishes.

I open the door and walk down the stairs till I get to the front door.

I open it and walk across the street to Central Park.

After walking for about 10 minutes I find a park bench and sit down.

With my hands in my pockets I look down at the concrete path and run the tip of my shoe along the pavement.

I hear the sounds of skateboards running along the pavement and I look up, about 4 teenage boys on skateboards pass by me.

The last boy had jet black hair and winked at me as he went by.

I slowly stood up and started walking in the direction I came.

"He'll be back soon," I say as a gust of wind blows my curly bangs out of my eyes.

I start walking back home until I run into a familiar face, Piper.

"Annabeth!" She says running over to me.

"Hey Pipes," I say smiling at her.

"So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go to see that new dystopian movie that came into theaters recently?" She asks walking beside me.

"Sure, I would love to," I reply.

We hailed a taxi to take us to the movies we bought the tickets at the front desk.

After the movie took the subway back home.

Piper dropped me off at my apartment before hailing another cab. (An: gosh piper must have a ton of cash if she can pay for all this transportation 😂)

"Thanks Piper, I needed a day with a friend," I say hugging her before walking up to my apartment.

"No problem, here's my number if you ever want to hang out," she writes down several numbers and hands it to me.

"I'll see you tomorrow at school," she says waving goodbye.

"See ya," I say before closing the front door.

It felt good to finally know I have friends who really care.
