Chapter 10

As I ran to to school in the pouring rain Percy was there beside me the whole time.

"She just makes me sick. She acts like she's already my new mom, I just met her yesterday!" I rant as we walk down the street.

"Aren't you so mad?" He says looking down at me.

"So mad."

"Don't you want to yell at something?"

"So badly."

"Come here," Percy says gesturing for me to follow him.

We get to a spot in Central Park that is a huge field and there is obviously no one there because of the pouring rain.

"Yell," he says turning to me.

"What?"

"Yell, like this," replies Percy.

He starts yelling at the empty field.

I join in and before I know it we are both cracking up.

"What was the purpose of that?" I say sitting in the wet grass still laughing.

"To get your anger out," he says sitting beside me.

I cup his face in my hands and kiss him. He kisses me back and we stay like that until a huge clap of thunder scares me and I jump back.

Percy smiles and grabs me in a hug.

"Annabeth."

"Hm?"

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

"Why?"

"Because I have you. You are beautiful and funny and talented and I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend," he says kissing my cheek.

"Oh no," I say standing up.

"What?" Percy says a look of concern in his face.

"School!" I say grabbing my backpack and running toward the bridge that leads to the bus stop.

I look back and Percy is just laughing and shaking his head as his running behind me. I can't help smile.

He catches up to me and grabs my hand as we run through the ran together.
