Chapter 12

Today was Joy's birthday. I honestly don't know how I'm supposed to throw a surprise party for Joy since of course-

"Good morning!" Joy came bolting in my room and jumped on my bed.

"Hey Joy! Hmm I wonder what today is. I know it's a special day but I just can't put my finger on it." I said playfully

"It's my birthday silly!" Joy said laughing.

"Oh yeah!" I said getting up now. "Joy, go get dressed and we'll do something fun."

Joy ran out of my room and into hers to put on her favorite tutu and outfit under it. I went to the bathroom to wash up and then to pick out some clothes. As I was sifting through my closet, I heard my phone ring. I picked out some white washed shorts with a plain black t-shirt. I picked up my phone as I was sliding on my socks.

"Hello?" I said without looking at the I.D.

"Hey, take Joy to her grandmothers house. When you drop her off-" I looked at my phone and saw it was Q. "You understand?"

"Repeat that last part?"

"Make sure to set up something fun at the house so when all the kids get there she can have a nice surprise."

"Okay I got it. What kind of party did you tell them it was going to be?" I asked.

"A poolside party"

"Okay then. See you later" I said and then hung up.

Joy came running back into my room "Are you ready?" she said with a huge smile.

"Yes I am" I said smiling back. "I have a huge surprise for you today so I can make your birthday perfect, so I have to drop you at your grandmas house so I can get it ready."

She gave me a look and said "That's what Ant said last year and he just gave me a party."

"Well I'm not Ant, am I?" I said grinning.

She gave in. "Okay! Let's go to grannys."

Murray was outside already. We got in the car and drove up to Q's moms house. She came out of the house and hugged Joy and then she walked up to me and said quietly "Quincey has told me a lot about you" and gave me a hug. "Would you like to come inside?" she said a bit louder.

"No thank you" I said with a smile. "I have a lot of planning to do for Joy's party." I whispered.

"Okay then. Have fun!" she said walking back into the house with Joy.

I got in the car and I started to think. Did Q go and see his mother after he left yesterday? Why does she know about me? Why was Q talking about me to her? Maybe, it's because I'm a good nanny. Maybe not. I guess I'll find out today. I got to the house and Q was there along with Tez. As I walked in they just stared.
