"Michael." Someone whispers from my door. "Wake up, we have a twitcam in ten minutes."
I rub my hand over my face and make grunting noises before I answer. "Go away Luke."
"Seriously, you have to get up."
I sigh heavily and start to sit up. "Fine." Luke walks away, probably to get the others up. I don't know how he does it, waking up in the morning to get our lazy arses out of bed. I can hear the light beat of rain against the roof and an occasional low rumble of thunder. Great day for a twitcam. It's not like we don't already have shitty internet connection when we do these.
I slide out of the warm bed to--unfortunately--meet the cold air around me. Despite it being 9am, it's dark outside. I can see the deep shade of grey sky out my window. I like the rain. I like how it looks, smells, sounds. It just gives me a nice calm feeling. I'm lucky it rains a lot in London.
After putting on a shirt and some black skinny jeans, I go to the the kitchen to make some coffee--I prefer it to tea. Luke is already making a pot, so I sit down at the bar stool and put my head down on the counter.
"Where are the others?" I mumble.
"Ashton's taking a shower and Calum's still waking up."
I groan. "I could've stayed in bed for, like, a few more minutes at least."
"Yeah, but then I'd be lonely." Luke says and pouts at me, his bottom lip jutted out with that small black hoop through it. He pours me a cup; puts in extra sugar and some cream, just how we both like it. He sits down next to me and slides the warm mug in front of me.
"Thanks." I say quietly. He always looks so nice in the morning, especially for waking up earliest. His hair is perfectly quiffed, and those goddamn blue eyes--it's unfair. I don't know if I want to be him or be on him. Oh my god, I can't believe I just thought that... sure i've always had a "thing" for him but it's nothing sappy or hopeless. I just like him. We both are pretty touchy with each other, you'd think we were actually dating, but it's like that with all of us, really.
Ashton and Calum walk into the kitchen just minutes before we have to start the twitcam. Ashton sets the laptop up and I take my seat on the couch between Ashton and Calum with Luke behind me. The view count slowly goes up until we have have about 3,000.
"Send us some questions on twitter, guys. Hashtag ask5sos." Ashton says, taking a sip of his tea.
"Send us weird questions." Calum adds.
"Not too weird."
"Ignore Ashton, be as weird as you want." Calum says.
Luke reads off the first question. "Would you rather live in a house made of pancakes or a house made of bacon?"
"Bacon." Calum says. "I'd just end up eating the whole thing."
"No, but then you'd end up all greasy, wouldn't you?" Ashton says. "I'd go with pancakes."
"I think I'd have a pancake house." Luke agrees.
"Well, I'm just going to say bacon so Calum isn't alone." I say.
"Thanks man."
Luke gives Ash the phone and he reads out another question. "Will you guys be doing any shows soon? Unfortunately, no." He says. "We have a lot of writing and recording to do until December, but we are still going on tour with One Direction in January."
"Yeah," I say, "We'd love to do some shows, we're just really busy."
"This is why we also try to do a lot of twitcams." Calum says.
Luke reads the next question. "What do you look for in a girl."
I groan. We always get asked this question. Honestly, I don't have a "type". I just like who I like. Not that the fans know that--specifically what genders I like. I've never thought of it as overly important to mention that I'm bisexual.
Luke smirks at me. "I like...girls who are in the same band as me." He jokes. "Preferably guitar playing, white haired ones."
"Michael's not a girl, Luke." Ashton says.
"I like short haired girls." Calum says.
"What about Katy Perry?" Ashton asks. "Her hair's not short."
"That's different." He shrugs.
We answer some more questions, most of which aren't actually weird at all. Luke starts lounging against me like he always does. He rests his chin on my shoulder for a while, then I rest my arm on his knee. It's not a big deal, we always do this. It's just comfortable, and completely normal for us.
We stay on the twitcam for about 35 minutes until we have to go. Ashton and Calum have to go into the city to write. Luke and I get the day off. Not that there's much to do in this weather. When the two leave we just watch Monsters Inc whilst leaning against eachother sharing the one super soft blanket we have. It's nice and quiet except for the movie and the storm outside. I could fall asleep in these conditions if it wasn't almost 11 o'clock.
